The sounds of waves crashing on the beach could be heard as Steven sat on the sand and reflected on recent events. Since finding this hidden getaway, he's come here a lot. It was an old warp area that the Gems had seemed to forget about and the hybrid had been using it as a place of escape.
But after recent events, he's also used to to keep a secret that would no doubt cause issues with not just the Gems, but Connie as well.
"Steven? I'm back." A familiar and posh voice said as Aquamarine fluttered towards the hybrid, wearing a bikini that perfectly showed off her curves. Since her and Eyeball had their falling out, Aquamarine has found love and comfort with Steven.
"Anyone catch on?" Steven asked as Aquamarine kissed him on the cheek.
"No. They don't suspect a thing. I was fearing that fusion would, but thankfully her hatred of me keeps us safe." She replied. There were still hard feelings between Aquamarine and the Gems. And who could blame them? After all, the same person she loved and was sitting next to now was the same one she tried to kill so many times.
"They still don't know about us. Best that they don't for right now. But I know we'll have to let them know at some point." Steven said as Aquamarine cuddled against him.
"Whether they accept it or not, I don't care. I love you, Steven. You...you were the only one who didn't abandon me. Eyeball.....that coward of a Ruby..." She began to say until Steven kissed her cheek.
"Don't worry about Eyeball. She doesn't know what she had. I gave you another chance because you showed you wanted to change." He said as Aquamarine smirked.
"Oh really now? Where was this mentality when Eyeball and I were fused? I don't recall you being so trusting of us back then, Steven." She said with a giggle as Steven laughed.
"Can you really blame me for that?" He asked as Aqua giggled.
"I suppose not. It's not like you had any reason to trust us. But to think we'd be where we are now with you and I sitting here in each other's embrace...I guess we really are in the future, aren't we?" Aquamarine asked as Steven smiled.
"And It's looking bright." He replied as the two of them shared a kiss.
