"This is definitely a murder." English teacher said.

I agreed to him.

We are now inside the classroom where my student was found poisoned. The investigators or detectives are also here. Math teacher is not here. English teacher said that he is now in the cafeteria grabbing some lunch.

I heaved a sigh. Hindi pa pala ako kumakain. It is already 1:40 in the afternoon.

"Sir, kumain ka na ba?"

"Not yet but I am still full. I'll just watch the investigation. How about you, Miss?"

Gutom na ako pero kailangan ko ring malaman ang totoong nangyari.

"I am still full." I said.

"Can I get some statement from you about the incident?" One investigator asked us.

"Yes. She is the teacher whose teaching here when the incident happened." My colleague replied.

"So, Maam, can you state what you witnessed a while ago?"

"I am teaching then suddenly my student fell on the floor. She has bubbles in her mouth, locked jaw, pinkish skin, and dilated eyes." I said.

"I think that is really poisoning. Hm, but what is the poison used?" The investigator asked himself.

"Acetonitrile." The guy beside me said. Me and the investigator looked on him.

"W-what is that?" I asked.

"A chemical used to make pharmaceuticals, perfumes, pesticides, acrylic nail removers and batteries. It is also used to extract fatty acids from animal and vegetable oils."

The investigator just gaze at this teacher and I think he is waiting for more explanation. Naniniwala ba siya sa lalaking ito?

English teacher continued to explain the Ace--chuchu. What is that again?

"Acetonitrile is a solvent that once inhaled, ingested, or absorbed through the skin, it converts into cyanide. No wonder why the victim smells like a toasted almond when I came to her."

Nagmamagaling lang ata ito eh. I didn't smell like that when I am with the victim!

"Yes, you're right." I was shocked by the sudden reply of this investigator. "Exposure to Acetonitrile can cause fatal cyanide poisoning. Symptoms were pinkish skin, dilated pupils, locked lower jaw, and also death." He said. Hindi ako makapaniwala. Those are the symptoms of my student. Then, he called one of his person and asked to test the body of the victim if it is really Acetonitrile.

"Thank you for your help." He said to us and bid goodbye. He continued his work.

"How did you know that chemical?" I asked him.

"Why do you care?" He replied and go outside the classroom. Sinundan ko siya.

"I am just asking. Do not be rude."

"It is a common chemical. Dapat nga ay alam mo rin iyon."

Is it common? Parang hindi naman ahh. I just know alcohol!

"Pwede ba. It is not even common. Pa'no mo nga nalaman iyon? Atsaka wala akong naamoy na almond sa estudyante ko. Pinaprank mo ba yung imbestigador?"

"Prank?! Silly you. I really smelled toasted almond from the victim and also Acetonitrile is a known solvent. Ginagamit iyon sa paggawa ng acetone, the thing you used to remove nail polish." He said with a blank face.
