After what felt like an eternity, recovery girl came in holding a pair of handcuffs. From a normal point of view, they just looked like regular cuffs that police officers use to restrain villains who were up to no good. But after closer inspection, the handcuffs were two separate pieces, almost resembling two bracelets, which were quite thick and looked very heavy. Both bracelets also seemed to have some sort of device attached to it with a screen that showed the temperature of its surroundings.
"How's he doing?" She asks while fiddling with the screens attached to the handcuffs. Aizawa looked up at recovery girl, then down at Shoto, and took in his appearance, a look of relief yet with a lot of pain still present. "He's doing fine for now. His fever doesnt seem to be getting worse aside from a coughing fit earlier."
At the same time as he had finished his explanation, recovery girl had also finished with the devices. "That's good. Now, these handcuffs should immediately calm his quirk down just like you once he puts them on. Hopefully he won't have to wear them for long since their quite heavy." And with that, she headed over to Shoto's bed and looked over the kids wrist, inspecting it for burns or frostbite that could be affected by the handcuffs. After seeing that there were no major injuries around them, she took a key out of her coat pocket and opened up the handcuffs. She first placed the first half around his left wrist and using the same key she locked it with a clicking sound. And she did the same with his right wrist. "This should work immediately. Time to test it." She stepped back and, facing Shota, gave a nod before looking back at Shoto.
Aizawa, who had been keeping his eyes wide open this whole time, began to close his eyes until they were fully shut. When he opened his eyes again, expecting flames and ice around the bed, instead saw the same exact thing as when he was still using his quirk on the boy. "It seems to be working." He says while blinking to get moisture around his eyes again.
Looking back at the kid, Shoto seemed to be as tense as before, but as time went by, his shoulders seemed to go down slowly until they were fully relaxed. His pained face also seemed to disappear and was replaced with a wave of relief washing over his sweaty face.
"You can go rest now. I'll watch over him for the rest of the day." She said as she sat on her chair and moved it to where Shoto was in her line of sight. "Thank you. I'll come here at around dinner." Aizawa stood up and headed towards the door of the infirmary. He opened the door with a click, and looked back at Shoto, who was now sleeping peacefully, before leaving and heading to the 1A dorms.
When he got in, he was swarmed with questions from the students who were already getting better, which surprisingly, had increased since that morning. "Shut up." He said while rubbing his eyes. All the students stopped talking and let him walk to the sofa in the middle of the common room and sit down before he started again. "He's doing fine. He'll probably be back by tomorrow...hopefully." All the students sighed in relief before some of them went back to whatever they were doing. "Iida, Momo, take care of the dorms. Make sure no one burns it down. And be quiet." And with that Iida and Momo followed his orders and began asking the students (mostly the bakusquad) to keep quiet, while Aizawa layed down on the sofa and fell to sleep quickly.
-
When he woke up once again, the dorms were fairly quiet, aside from the area behind him, which seemed to have a lot of people in it. The sky outside that was peaking into the windows were now a dark blue color with stars filling it. When he checked his watch, it showed 9:00pm. Realizing he had overslept, he stood up from his position and ran to the door in a flash to check on Shoto. Before he could open it, a hand had been placed on his shoulder. He spun around to see Iida with a neatly made sandwich in hand. "You slept through lunch sir, so I thought to make you a sandwich as food is very important to work through the day." Iida was saying the whole speech while waving his empty hand aggressively. "Thanks. I'm gonna go to the infirmary to check on Todoroki. Make sure everyone gets to bed before 12." Aizawa said with tiredness in his voice as he took the sandwich. Nonetheless, Iida nodded and ran straight to the kitchen where everyone seemed to be eating dinner and began informing the class with the instructions given to him. Once he saw that all was good with rest of the class, he opened the door and stepped outside into the dark night and went straight to the infirmary while taking bites into his food.
-
As he opened the door to the infirmary, a familiar scene was in front of him. Shoto sleeping on a bed while recovery girl was sat next to him while writing something on a piece of paper. He walked closer to the bed and took a spare chair which he placed at the opposite sde of recovery girl. "How's he doing?" He looked over at Shoto for a split second before looking back up at recovery girl. "He's doing fine, thankfully. His quirk doesnt seem to be acting up at all, the handcuffs seem to be working." She took a quick breath before continuing. "I fed him during lunch time, though he only took on about 4 spoonfulls before feeling naseous. Same thing at dinner."
After that last sentence, Aizawa looked back down again at Shoto who was sleeping peacefully. His face didn't seem to tense up anymore, and it didn't seem he was in any pain. He did seem to be sweating slightly though. It could have been from his quirk or his fever. "How's his fever?" Recovery girl moved from looking at her paper to Shoto, taking in his appearance. "His temperature doesn't seem to be going up. Though it's still very high. It will probably stay like that for a couple of days. 2 to 3 days give or take."
Aizawa sighed in relief as he checked the numbers on the screen of both handcuffs. The left screen showed extremely high number while the right screen showed the opposite. All of a sudden, Shoto started moving his head up slowly looking at his surroundings. He seemed more relaxed than before and didn't seem to be too uncomfortable.
"Oh hey, you're awake. How are you feeling?" Aizawa moved for a closer look when Shoto's eyes met his. Shoto took a couple of seconds trying to figure out how to answer the question. After gazing up and down his body, he looked back up at Aizawa. "Better." Shota was happy to hear that, and so did Recovery Girl. "Are you hungry?" Recovery Girl asked while taking another look at the screens of the handcuffs. "No, sorry. I'm just tired." Shoto said as he let out a small yawn while blinking his eyes trying to stay awake. "That's okay. You can go to sleep." Aizawa let out a small smile seeing his usually serious student trying not to fall asleep. "Hmm" Shoto answered quietly as his body was drifting to sleep. "Also, you don't have to say sorry for not being hungry." Aizawa laughed a bit before leaning back on his chair.
"Sorry. I mean-" Shoto clasped his hands over his mouth with wide eyes. Aizawa and Recovery Girl just laughed it off before looking back at Shoto.
He let out a small smile before falling back to sleep.
