White Powder

Aurelia planed down the corridors, full of torrid glass clerestories. She perpetually glimpsed her environing. She discerned that somebody was surveilling what she was doing.
Or maybe she did have a conscience(I know. it surprised me too).

Maybe it was her but she felt like the corridors had gotten longer than last time.
Passing hundreds of guards.
Eyeing her.
But thank goodness,
She finally came to the olden mahogany doors.
And when she waited no time to get inside.
She swung the door open then wagged close a nanosecond later.
She pressed her back against the paneled door.
She let a breath go; she didn't know she was holding. Hand scrunched up tight against the dark russet colour door.
Sighing, Aurelia stagger to the bygone dim utile armoire. Clutching onto the lever of old characteristic metal.
She lugged open the door of armoire.

Inside was: valises bags, cabinets, utile timber, and bijou mirror with detailed frame.
She grabbed the valise.
She heedfully pulled out a ring, distinctly old gold. The band itself had a elfin knob atop and curvy swirls.

It was a pillbox ring.

The tsaritsa popped open the lid. It was a very discreet ring. It looked like a ordinary band. The band was given by her grandmother to herself. Her grandmother was a treacherous woman. Some just knew. And others learned the hard way.
But that is a story for another day.

She peered at the old gold band.
Even though she had used this band fore she still felt puny bit lousy.
But then she remembered that she was the Tsaritsa of Russia. Killing was part of the task. If she likes it or not.
Lucky for her she was born heartless.
And she knew that.

She nipped open the bung of the old gold band.
Inside of the band there was white powder.
If you ever saw it you were ne'er thought it would be enough to massacred you. Even if you just abut it.

She gazed at the white powder.
She steadily shut the bung.
The tsaritsa serenely slide the band onto her digitus medicinalis of her right hand.
Aurelia monotonously studied the band; she made slow movements with the light hitting the gold band, through the windows.
Abruptly she slammed the armoire's doors close; then she marched to the bygone mahogany door of the chambers. Then with a flat visage she exited the chambers; down the corridors, pitilessly.

•••

Henry thought he was at the top of the food chain, the polar bear, the orca whale.
He thought nobody was as ruthless as he.

He was wrong.

You see, the genuine apex predator was Tsaritsa Aurelia the II of Russia. She could be your preeminent league. Or your subjugated foe.
It was your decision.

She could swallow you and spit you out.

The tsaritsa came to the dim dinning hall, inside with hues, of candles, to light the hall. King Henry was at the front of the table, waiting for her. Aurelia perched on the end seat, of the lengthy table.
"Hello, tsaritsa." The king said, coldly.
"Hello." She responded, calmly.
"Where is the victuals?" The tsaritsa turned her body to both sides, glimpsing around the hall.
"It should be hither shortly."
The Russian tsaritsa nodded.
"Where is the lavatory?" Aurelia enquired.
The king gazed at her with chary.
"Outside. A few doors down. It has 'Water Closet' on the door." The king answered; still dubious. The tsaritsa stood straight and walked to the doors of the hall.
Once she was out of the dining hall, she looked for the meals,
The viands were on the benches, lining the corridors; waiting for butlers.
She gazed both ways of the corridors, then unlatched the bung of the gold ring.
Glancing once more she discreetly dredged the claret wine and the king's meal.

As you may have already guessed: she did not need the lavatory. And was using her pillbox ring for the king.

Sighing, the tsaritsa's eyes flashed both ways of the corridors. Then she leisurely made her route to the dinning hall anew.

Smiling sickly, she entered the dining hall.
