As Asia walked to class she remembered she never asked how long practice was. "Crap mom and I were going to spend time together. I guess I'll spend time with her after practice." Asia thinks to herself walking to class. Asia honestly really wanted time with her mom. Her mom is always busy with work and meetings. All Asia was hoping for this week was at least one day with her. She also noticed that her mom had been kinda stressed, but her mom wasn't trying to show it. Once Asia got to class all she thought about was her mom and spending time together. Asia was so excited for the team, but she felt bad because her mom probably was waiting for some time together. "Asia are you okay", her teacher asks. "Yes ma'am I'm sorry I dozed off", Asia says getting focused again. "It's okay just don't let it happen again alright", her teacher said with a smile. "Yes ma'am."
*class finally ends*
Asia begins to look for Emmett. "Where is he? He's normally back by now." Asia is still looking for him. "Emmett!" Asia yells looking for him. She couldn't find him and she looked everywhere. "Maybe he's in the locker room?" Asia thinks to herself. She begins to watch the gym. She actually feels kinda tired today, but nothing happened. As Asia approached the gym she still didn't see him. "Where the hell is he?!" Asia reaches in her backpack. "Oh right I forgot my phone, damn it," Asia remembers suddenly. Asia needs her phone so she can call her mom to fill out the form to be a manager. As she's scrambling around she sees coach. "Coach!" Asia says yelling at him. "Have you seen Emmett by any chance?" Asia asks outta breath. "He's in the locker room getting ready for practice," Coach says getting the basketballs out of the gym closet. "Oh Okay. Thank you for letting me know." Asia says relieved. "No problem," coach says with a smile. Asia walks towards the locker room and waits patiently outside for Emmett. "He sure is taking a while." Asia is starting to get impatient.
Asia just sways herself back and forth. "Emmett where are you?" Asia says quietly to herself. Emmett finally walks out of the locker room. "Hey, Emmett I was looking for you everywhere. Are you okay?" Asia is concerned. "I'm very sorry I just rushed over here as quickly as possible, the coach said to be here as soon as class is done so I just bailed after class. I'm sorry I shouldn't have just left you there." Emmett says kinda outta breath. "You alright?" Asia asks. "Yeah i'm okay. Emmett says. "Can I borrow your phone to call my mom?" Asia asks. "Yeah of course," Emmett says handing Asia the phone. "Thanks," Asia says calling her mom's number. Emmett had her number so her mom knew to answer because it wasn't a stranger calling her.
"Hello," Asia says to her mom. "Hey Asia, why do you have Emmett's phone", her mom recognized her voice. "I left mine at home. I need you to fill out my manager form for my team." Asia tells her mom. "Yeah, sure I'll bring your phone. Do you need anything else?" Asia's mom asks getting ready to head over to her school. "No thank you," Asia says nicely. "Okay, I'm on my way." Her mom says grabbing her keys to get into the car. "See ya," Asia says hanging up the phone. "Here Emmett. Thanks for letting me use your phone." Asia says handing it back. "Any time," Emmett says walking back towards the locker room. She began to walk near the front so she could meet her mom. Asia begins to walk fast towards the gate. Asia then remembers how her mom wanted to bond together. "I'll talk to her about that. Every time I think about that it makes me feel even worse." Asia says to herself.
Asia finally gets to the gate and patiently waits for her mom. Asia's mom pulls up with her phone and a small snack and some water. "Here I brought you a snack and your phone." Her mom says smiling and getting out of the car. Asia hugs her mom pretty tightly. "Hey, you okay? You've never hugged me tightly." Her mom says worriedly. "I'm sorry," Asia whispers to her mom. "Why are you sorry? Did you do something?" Asia's mom is more worried now. "No, it's just you took time to get off of work and I'm at practice. You probably have been wanting to do something for a while now and I feel bad I'm now wasting our time together." Asia says, still hugging her mom. "Nothing in this world makes me happier than to see you do what you love most. Whatever makes you happy makes me happy. Just know I love you more than anything." her mom says feeling pretty happy. Asia wanted time as well. "Thank you for understanding," Asia says, "Hey, it's okay." She says. "You've got some teammates to meet." Asia calms down and gives her mom one last hug. "Now go have fun. Make me proud." Her mom says laughing. "I love you mom, I'll make it up to you!" Asia says heading back. "I love you too!" her mom says opening the door to her car. "Oh, right the form," Asia says heading back toward her car. She hands the form to her mom. She signs in and Asia makes it back to the gym. Asia's mom steps into the car seat. "I'm glad to have an amazing daughter like her." Her mom says smiling. She drives off.
Back to Asia. She begins to run. "I'm glad my mom is okay." She thinks to herself. Asia finally makes it. "My mom signed it." Asia says outta breath. "Thank you. Are you okay?" coach asks concerned. "Yeah I'm fine I just ran over here," Asia says still outta breath. "Okay...You're going to meet the team and then I'll get your size for a team jacket." Coach says getting everything ready for practice. "Alright. I'm ready." Asia said with a fake smiling. Asia was very nervous by the fact that some of the team doesn't like her already. The only people that like her were Emmett and Owen. The team comes out of the locker room. "Hey, guys this is Asia. She will be your manager this year. So y'all might know her, but I wanted her to meet y'all. I need to go to the locker room real quick, I'll be right back." Coach says as he walks off. "Hi, guys as you heard I'm Asia. I'm excited to help out this year." Asia says nervously. "You'll have a great time," Owen says smiling.
That made Asia pretty happy. Carlos looked kinda annoyed. He didn't like Asia all that well. Carlos thought Asia maybe wanted attention and pity, but he didn't know that wasn't it. "Drop that fake smile." Carlos said making everyone laugh except for Emmett and Owen. Asia didn't say anything because, in a way, he wasn't wrong, but to piss him off she smiled more. "Carlos! I already told you to leave her alone." Owen yells at him. Owen is pretty pissed, he has always hated how people can be so cruel and disgusting. Asia took out her phone and began to scroll through Instagram. Asia held back some restrain. She didn't want to cause a scene. "Hey, guys I'm back,"Coach says walking towards the team. "Did Asia introduce herself?"Coach asks. "Yeah," Carlos says with a smirk. Owen knew it was faking it, but he couldn't do anything about that. "Alright go run 5 laps outside," Coach says to the team. "Yes sir!"
Everyone starts running towards the door. Asia walks over to the coach. "Is there anything I could help out with or do?" Asia asks, wanting to help. "Can you please monitor and make sure they actually run?"Coach says it sounds kinda grumpy. "Yes sir," Asia says making her way outside. "Damn it. I forgot how hot it was today." Asia says heating up a bit. As Asia was walking towards the grassy area behind the gym, she noticed something seemed off from the distance.
