****"I really am tired of staying home all day. It's becoming really exhausting. You won't get it cause you have an opportunity to leave the confines of your home everyday." Laura said while lying on her mother's beautiful poster bed.
It had been her sleeping place ever since she graduated College. She had her room but there was something about this room that was comforting. It was so similar to her; rarely visited, almost empty and more or less useless. Her mother had this room to keep some of the stuff she didn't want in the bedroom she shared with her husband and since she usually slept in her matrimonial room, she had no use of this room so Laura gladly took over and made this her safe haven. She had gotten so used to the room she could hardly get good sleep anywhere else.
"Oh come on, you know it's not as easy as it sounds. My parents can be a real pain in the ass and you know the only reason I leave home is because I have a shop to man with my annoying sister."
Amanda replied making Laura chuckle. Laura knew first hand how annoying Clara could be but then she could only imagine how lucky Amanda was to be fruitful and having something to man even if it was a supermarket. Oh! What she would gladly give to be that lucky."Well if you say so." Laura said feeling to lazy to argue.
"Sooooooo what do you plan on doing today? Other than resting that nice ass of yours on a bed. God knows if I had an ass like that I would never stay home." Laura flushed visibly, glad that Amanda couldn't see her beet red face. She knew she had nice curves but did Amanda always have to bring it up and make her blush stupidly? Fortunately she was used to it so she tried her best to remain calm because no matter how much she complained about Amanda talking about her body, Ama just never seemed to get a hint.
"Well I guess I'm just going to give myself rest after thinking of possible things to do." she said avoiding the comment Ama made about her body.
"Okay then, check out some job offers I emailed to you though. They have nice pay and you could finally put your talent out there."
"They would only give me a chance because of my name." Laura scoffed.
"Come on Laur you and I know how amazing you are when it comes to writing. You're like a goddess with words." Because that's the only time I feel important Laura wanted to say but she decided against it.
"Ama can you drop it? We both know that I don't want anyone pulling strings for me. I'll get a job when I want."
"You can get a job at the drop of a hat. You could also use the experience, girl! but you just don't want anyone to help you! Why that is, is beyond me." Amanda said getting frustrated about this issue. Laura didn't want a job, yet she kept complaining about staying indoors. Talk about stupid. Ama wondered if Laura was just scared of wearing adult pants, well if she was, she would help her wear it. What are friends for?
"Ama I have experience remember? The college magazine every year? Our departmental magazines, and other random chances I've been able to get. I just don't want my name dropping hats for me."
Laura had always been an admirer of hard work and she always wanted to be a hard worker like her parents but it was hardly possible when they had already done the hard work for her siblings and her. She knew it sounded stupid to want to work hard when her parents did it for her but it was the only thing that made her feel wanted. College courses were her way of showing hardwork. She had finished as top of her class, an impeccable result she was extremely proud of. But once she graduated, she realised that she worked hard for nothing because even if she didn't come out in flying colours, her name would have gotten a job for her and it was infuriating. Not to talk of her well to do siblings who were already working their way to the top in their various fields.
