Dedicated to Romance

"So how did your date with the pretty girl go?" Flavio asked Armando after finishing off his third bottle of beer. They were chilling out in Armando's living room, had just finished eating ordered pizza and were presently watching TV, well, only Flavio was because apparently, Armando seemed to be occupied with something on his phone.

"You know for someone who claims to be a basketball player, you're consuming a lot of alcohol." Armando replied instead. He had noticed Flavio's recent romance with the alcohol bottle and with the way he was going, he just had to stop.

"Okay Dad. Now can you tell me about your date with Laura." Flavio diverted. He wasn't ready to tell Armando the real reason why he was currently having a blooming relationship with alcohol. Not yet, Armando will kill him.

"It was... Wait how do you know her name?" Armando asked coolly although the wheels in his brain were turning at full speed giving him reasons why he shouldn't punch the living daylight out of his Best friend.

"How else? The internet. She's famous dummy."

"True." Armando grunted out not knowing what else to say.

"Possessive much. Don't worry man I have my eyes on another woman." Flavio blurted out looking mortified at what he his big mouth had decided to let out, courtesy of the alcohol.

"And who might that be?" Armando pushed. It had been on the back of his mind the last week. Flavio had been acting strange and he didn't want to seem nosey but he had brought the topic up himself. Probably he was ready to talk about it.

"Nice try diverting the topic. But we were talking about you." Flavio vaguely replied smartly dodging the question.

"Right. I met her at the supermarket you told me about and I took her to Suzy's. Everything was going well till she decided to up and leave."

"What? Why?" Flavio asked opening another bottle of beer.

"I don't know. I just asked her why she was dressed the way she was, then she took off running" Armando said making Flavio burst into fits of laughter.

"You know with all your experience in women, one would think you should be a wise man but unfortunately you're not." He managed to get out.

"What do you mean by that?" Armando replied with a look of pure confusion.

"Why would you ever shame what someone is wearing?" Flavio said clearly exasperated partly from his friend's ignorance and partly from his laughing spree a while ago.

"I didn't shame it. I asked simply because she wasn't dressed for work and neither was she dressed like a rich kid. Wasn't she supposed to like keep an appearance?" Armando reasoned.

"You should know that not everyone loves 'to keep appearances' and apparently Laura is part of them." Flavio bit back raising his two hands with his index and middle fingers forming the shape of quote sign.

"Now I know that."

"Seriously manny bear, you scared a girl off on your first day our with her? That's crazy man." Flavio said bursting into laughter again.

"It's not funny." Armando gritted out.

"Trust me it is. Why would you even ask something like that." Flavio muttered distracted by something on his phone.

"Cause I care about appearance."

"Well you should find something better to care about. Alright man I'm out. I've got something to take care of ASAP. Send her flowers, girls love flowers." Flavio advised while getting up and making his way to the door.
But not before tapping his head as a good luck sign.
