Paradise wasn't sure what she had expected when she entered the RainbowWing village. Maybe a tribe of peaceful, docile dragons who would welcome a chance to save the world with open wings. She did not, however, expect to face a tribe of angry, magic-wielding dragons who would lock her and Foliage away in an elaborate prison.

"But I'm a RainbowWing!" she yelled to the vine-draped walls for the hundredth time, though she was almost positive that the RainbowWings had stopped listening. "We're trying to save all of Palem! Great diamonds, would someone please LISTEN to me?"

Paradise sighed and collapsed onto the ground. At least when she was angry, she couldn't feel guilty or terrified. She closed her eyes, thinking again of what would happen if she, Daybreak, and Foliage failed. The DarkWings will find the RainbowWing village. They will do whatever it takes to get the RainbowWings to use Glyrite to knock over the Stone Wall. All of the MistWings and WoodWings who have spent years believing in the prophecy will be more than willing to accept the DarkWings as their ruler... Paradise shuddered. She remembered what Foliage had said just before they flew off to the RainbowWing village. "Together we could find a way to stop the war."

To Paradise, his words had never seemed less true.
