Two weeks had passed since you came back from that case. You had the girls night with Emily, JJ, and Garcia, who were now your friends. You weren't that close to Hotch or Rossi, but became good friends with Morgan and Reid.

It was your day off, and you decided to ask Reid if he wanted to hang out.

You texted him, Hey Spencer, wanna go see a movie today, I heard they're showing a new documentary.

You were doing a workout at home and decided to make some breakfast while you waited for him to text back.

Hey Jo, I'd love to. Pick you up at 7? You smiled at your phone.

You replied, See you soon doc:)

You spent most of your day reading a book– The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides– with a glass of wine.

You got a call from Emily at 5PM, "Hey, Emily, what's up?"

"Hey some guy showed up at work today while I was picking up some files, he was looking for you"

You stayed silent, worried that it was Mateo.

"Jo? You still there?" Emily asked

"Yeah, yeah. I'm still here, did he say his name?"

"He said his name's Mateo? Is he a friend of yours?" She asked, interested in who he was

"Um, just some guy I know. Thanks for letting me know!"

"No problem, I gotta go, let me know if you need anything"

"I will, thanks" you ended the call.

You thought he was gone. He hadn't contacted you since that day at the bar on your last case. Deciding to let it go and not worry about it, you got ready for the movie with Spencer. He texted you at 6:58PM letting you know he was waiting for you downstairs.

"Hey!" you smiled at him as you entered the passenger seat of his car

He smiled and began to drive, "Hi"

"Wow this is the first time I see Dr. Spencer Reid drive" you said mockingly

He laughed. "How was your day?" he asked

"Pretty good, I spent the day reading and did a quick workout" You were still worried about Mateo but obviously weren't going to bring it up to Reid.

"Me too, I read 22 books today. What did you read?"

"Oh wow, um... well I only read one book... because I'm human..." you laughed, "but it was a psychological thriller, those are my favorite"

Spencer took his eyes off the road for a second to look at you. A smile formed on his face before he looked back at the road.

You arrived at the theatre and got to the concession stand.

A huge smile formed on your face, "Oh my god they have gummy bears I haven't had those since I was six years old!"

Reid laughed at your child-like behavior and you blushed in embarrassment, realizing you had only ever shown your team the tough, hard-working, formal woman side of you, even when you hung out outside of work.

Reid looked at you while you were both waiting for your turn at the cashier,"What? I had those almost every day when I was a teenager, they were my favorite snack"

"Yeah, well I barely got any food at all as a teenager" you laughed without realizing what you just said. Reid furrowed his eyebrows and confusion struck his face. You didn't mean to bring up anything from your childhood and you definitely didn't want to explain to him the abuse and neglect you went through in the foster care system. Before he had a chance to say something, you spoke up and changed the subject, "So are you going to get popcorn?"
