"I'm sorry, Joanne" he held her tighter. "I'm sorry for hurting you."

Later on that day Jake, Katie's husband came home. Jake and Steve don't get along well.

"Get out of my house! How dare you expose my son to such nature? Bringing home gangbangers and a hooker. Get out!" He yelled at Steve. Katie and Anthony were gone for the rest of the day to hang out with friends.

Joanne was highly offended. She didn't like it when people gave her such low value. Comparing it to yesterday after she yelled at her "friends" that was nothing. She stepped forward. Jake was a tall guy that always wore tall expensive suits and expensive watches.

"Who are you calling a hooker? That little slut you were hanging out with last night is nothing to what I am. I am an educator! How dare you underestimate me? Does it look like I wanted to be here? You need to get your facts straight. Did someone as stupid as you even go to a university?" She told him straightforward. Jake without thinking slapped her. Chris was about to move in action but Steve stopped him.

"You don't know half the things I'm going through right now! That girl is not a slut. She's my girlfriend. And don't act like you know everything about me little girl. I didn't go to college for a reason. But look at me now, high class. And I'm so intrigued by your stamina. You have enough energy to search the alleys for something to eat and here you are talking to me. I just wanna acknowledge your strength, it makes drop to my knees and say "all hail poverty!" Joanne punched him.

"Ooohhhh" the crowd went. As in, Steve and the two brothers.

"I am a 21 year old graduate from Julliard. I am now a music teacher and a private teacher. I have my own home and I have enough money to start my own business. I don't know what you're talking about Mr. And don't you ever  talk down to me like that again." She kneed him in the stomach. "And that's for cheating on your wife and not divorcing her." Steve's eyes widened. Jake kneels over to her feet.

"How do you know I was divorcing her?" he looked into her eyes. Joanne's eyes were full of disappointment.

"Why would someone buy and wear such an expensive suit and watch for work? You have a fresh red stain on your shirt, wine perhaps? And better yet, you don't seem so exhausted from staying up all night "working". You look, less dense."

"Your divorcing my sister?" Steven looked up. Chris grabbed Joanne's arm just in case he flipped out again.

"There's no use of her anymore." He simply said tilting his head back. He had a nose bleed from the punch. Steve grabbed his collar. He talked quietly enough for Jake to ear. Everyone else wanted to listen.

"Remember what I told you before you proposed to my sister? Yes I was 14 at the time but I was serious. I told you to never break her heart. I said if you did I would beat the crap out of you."  Jake nodded.

"You've grown up so much it doesn't seem maturity hit though. Katie is a grown woman. She can manage"

"No she can't! She's never been hurt before because I made sure she made right decisions!" Steve yelled. He then lowered his voice. "She might forgive you but I never will. Let's go outside so we don't ruin your precious carpet." He nodded. They walked outside and prepared for battle.

"What are they going to do?" Joanne asked.

"Do you have a nickname Joanne?" Chris asked ignoring her question.

"Jo? Are you going to answer my question?"

"Oh, sorry. He's about to beat him up. You didn't see it in his eyes?" She shook her head.
