Icarus Falls

"Problema nun?" Natatawang tanong ni Sari sa amin ni Drew. Kahit hindi nakakatawa ang nangyari ay nakitawa na lang ako. I didn't want to make the issue a big deal since I've already learned to live with Sari's comments about my life. I even live with the girl literally. Kaya wala na lang rin sa akin ang mga sinasabi nito. I stand for what I believe in and I honestly don't  care about what others say.

"Noah's just probably drunk." I said, laughing along. Kinuha ko ang isang bote ng alak at uminom. Dahil Saturday naman bukas, I figured there's no harm in getting a bit drunk. I just had the longest day of my life and I think I deserved to sleep with booze in my system.

Ilang oras pa ang lumipas na kasama ko si Drew at Sari habang nainom. I even saw Noah drinking sa other side ng table with people from his department and all I can think about is how he stood up for me tonight... or how his back looked like when he walked away after standing up for me kay Sari. It really feels nice to have someone like him. He's been there for me ever since college and I may have overlooked all the things Noah did for me but now I am appreciating it.

And it makes me want to hold onto this friendship dearly. 

I smiled to myself.

The music changed and it immediately made Sari jump from her seat. Hinihila kaming dalawa ni Drew papunta sa dance floor. If I was wasted drunk, I would have joined them with the dancing. But I am not. Kaya kahit ano pang hila sa akin nila Sari ay hindi ako pumayag.

"Kill joy mo talaga!" Sari shouted, halatang inis na inis.

Tumawa ako at nagpaalam na.

"Uuna na akong umuwi ha!"

I'm pretty sure Sari and Drew's dancing will lead into something different again, I decided that it's better to go home earlier than them.

Kasi kung sasabay pa ako sa kanila ay paniguradong di ako makakakuha kahit ilang oras na tulog. Atleast if they decided to go home, nakatulog na ako kahit sandali man lang.

"Text Noah..and tell him he should sleep at the hotel." Drew grabbed my hand gently and whispered to me before finally joining Sari.

I was dumbfounded with what Drew said to me. Kasi I totally understood what he meant. It's actually better for me since from what I heard, he's planning to take Sari sa place niya. 

And that means, no inappropriate background noises for me but yes for Noah. Hindi ko mapigilang mapangiti. I'll finally have a quiet night. I sighed and cheerfully looked for Noah around the bar, since my phone is already dead, why text him pa if I can tell him directly na dapat ay mag-hotel na lang siya?
