When I woke up the next morning. I got ready and walked downstairs to Chocolate Chip pancakes.

Hailey: What is this?

Antonio: Welcome to Intelligence.

Hailey: What do you mean Welcome to Intelligence?

Antonio: Well after you fell asleep I made a few calls and after your first to weeks in the academy you will be detailed to Intelligence.

Hailey: How?

Antonio: I know some people. 

Hailey: You are the best.

Antonio: I know.

After I ate breakfast we got into Antonio's car. When we got to the district. I felt Hank inside of me and I stopped for a minute

Antonio: Hey what's wrong.

Hailey: I know that he would be really proud of me and what kind of person I have became.

Antonio: Yeah. he would be very proud of you."

We walk in to see Trudy.

Trudy: Hailey?

Hailey: Have you heard the news."

Trudy: Yeah I'm so sorry.

Hailey: So you have not hear. I got in to the police academy I start Monday.

Trudy: No way.

Hailey: Yes way

As we walk up to the bullpen I hear laughter.

Antonio: Everyone this is Hailey Upton she will be joining us in 2 weeks

Adam: Why in two weeks?

Antonio: She still has to go to the academy she starts Monday and we thought it would be a good idea do come in and help us to see how she likes it.

Kim" Who is going to be our new sergeant?

I burst into tears and ran to Hank's old office.

Kim: What is her deal?

Antonio: Her deal is that her whole family died last night."

Kim: That Hailey Upton.

Antonio: Yeah

I hear footsteps coming closer and closer the door opens and I hear an unfamiliar voice.

Jay: Are you ok?

Hailey: Yeah

As I wipe my tears away I see who I was talking to.

Jay: Jay Halstead

Hailey: Hailey Upton

I sit on Hank's couch and Jay sits next to me.

Jay: Voight talked a lot about you.

Hailey: Like what would he talk about

Jay: He kept bragging that you had the highest GPA and you are the smartest in the whole entire high school

Hailey: He said that?

Jay: Yeah and he said that you are the cutest and funniest girl he knows. I can see the cute but the question is, Are you funny?

I laugh a little. Then I put my head on his shoulder. It was where I felt safe. As I drifted off to sleep I felt my head hit a pillow and a blanket draped over me. When I woke up Jay was gone. The bullpen was empty. Then I heard gunshots. I put on Hank's vest and ran down to Trudy's desk.

Hailey: Did you hear that?

Trudy: Get behind the desk I will figure out what is going on.

Trudy forgot her radio and I heard.

Jay: 5021 George officers down we need back up at the 21 district.

I ran over to them. Jay and Antonio were shot.

Hailey: Hey Jay, it's going to be okay.

Jay: Hailey go faraway.

Hailey: I'm not leaving you Jay.

Jay: Hailey Please I don't want you to get shot too.

Hailey: I'm not leaving you Jay.

Jay: Fine, hold here.

Hailey: Jay I know how to treat a gun shot wound.

Jay: Feisty noted.

Then Jay went unconscious.

Hailey: 5021 George I need 2 ambo's right now

Dispatch Operator: 5021 George Is Jay Halstead. Who are you?

Hailey: I'm Hailey Upton and if you don't get 2 ambos here now Jay and Antonio are going to be dead. Do you copy?

Dispatch Operator: Yes

Hailey: Hey Antonio. Are you awake?

I hear no response. I drag him over next to Jay and I have a hand on each one of them. Then I pull out Antonio's phone and put Gabby on speaker. She picked up.

Gabby: Hey bro, What's up?

Hailey: Gabby, my name is Hailey. Me and your brother are at the district. Him and his partner Jay has been shot are you close

Gabby: What?"

Hailey: I have my hand on his gunshot wound holding pressure but I don't know how much longer he is going to make it are you close?

Gabby: Stay on the phone

Ambo's 49 and 61 pulled up Gabby ran to Antonio but she had 49 take him. I helped Gabby and her partner load Jay into the Ambo. Gabby's partner drove and me and Gabby were in the back with Jay.

Gabby: Hailey hand me the gauze.

Hailey: Ok. Here

I grabbed it and I held Jay's hand. I was hoping he felt me there so he would stay alive. When we pulled up to Chicago Med I got out and handed Jay off to a doctor and Gabby and I sat in the waiting room.
