Hailey: Yes.

Unknown: We just wanted you to know that Antonio Dawson safely landed about 10 minutes ago.

Hailey: Thank you.

Jay: Who was that.

Hailey: The hospital that Antonio is at.

Jay: What's wrong?

Hailey: He just safely landed about 10 minutes ago.

Jay: Oh that is great.

I fell asleep in Jay's arms but it felt like a few minutes later when my alarm went off. I got up, packed and started to write Jay a note.

Hailey: Hey you're up.

Jay: Yeah where are you going?.

Hailey: Remember I start at the academy today.

Jay: Ohhh right.

Hailey: Well have a good day I will be back around 4 okay.

Jay: Okay.

I start to walk out of the room.

Jay: You're gonna leave without giving me a kiss?

Hailey: No.

I walk back to Jay and I give him a kiss. When I walked out of med I had this uneasy feeling like when I got that call a few days ago and it was actually my dad. But of course me being me I did not want to miss the first day at the Academy. I brushed it off.

Instructor: Attention today you will be trying to get the gun from out of the victim's hand.

Victim: I can't live any longer.

Hailey: Hey whatever is bothering you we can fix it.

Victim: I'm going to prison for life and I can never see my daughter again.

Hailey: Well why do you have to go to prison for life.

Victim: I accidently killed my baby.

Hailey: What do you mean?

Victim: I was about to go down the stairs when my 5 year old daughter ran into me and I accidentally dropped him and since he was a premature newborn we couldn't survive the fall.

My day was like this then when we were all released. The instructor pulled me aside.

Instructor: You are just like your unit.

Hailey: What do you mean my unit?

Instructor: Well Isn't Hank Voight you dad?

Hailey: Yeah.

Instructor: I'm so sorry for the loss of your whole family.

Hailey: Thank you at least I didn't lose Antonio.

Instructor: Goodnight.

Hailey: Goodnight.

I walked outside and it was starting to get dark out because there have been some big wild fires just west of us. It was pretty. Then I could hear footsteps coming closer and closer. All I could remember waking up in a house with my hands and feet tied to a pole.

Hailey's Dad: There is my sweetheart.

It was my dad. There were other people in the house because I could hear other footsteps.

Hailey: Dad?

Hailey's Dad: Hi sweetheart."

I could hear my phone ringing and ringing. My dad picked it up.

Hailey's Dad Who's Jay Halstead.

Hailey: My partner.

Hailey's Dad: Then why does his name have yellow hearts around it.

Hailey: Because he is my boyfriend.

Hailey's Dad: Tell him to leave you alone.

Jay: Hailey, where are you. You said you would be back by 4 it is now 8.

Hailey: Jay, I'm really scared he took me, I love you.

My dad ripped my phone from my hands.

Hailey's Dad: If you don't pay me 1,000,000. Hailey Upton will die in 24 hours.

Jay: Where do I bring it to?

Hailey's Dad: Oh you know where.

My dad hung up and he said.

Hailey's Dad: That boy does really care about you but he is going to die.

Hailey: No you can't.

Hailey's Dad: Oh yes I can and I will.

Hailey: If you kill him i will never ever forget it, He is the love of my life and you killing him will make you go to jail for the rest of your life You already kidnapped a police officer that is 15 years plus the murder of a Chicago police officer is life.

Hailey's Dad: Oh so you are a cop.

Hailey: Yeah.

Hailey's Dad: Then why were you at the academy?

Hailey: Retraining everybody has to do it every year.

Hailey's Dad: Then give me your gun.

Hailey: I don't have it.

Hailey's Dad: Where is it?

Hailey: In a safe where I'm living.

He slapped me multiple times over and over. The pain started to num. It brought me back to when I was younger but this time there was a loud Chicago P.D everybody's hands up now. Then someone kicked down the door that led to the room and my dad was in.

Hailey: Kev.

Kevin: Hailey. Jay is going to be so happy you are ok.

Kev untied me then carried me out to his car and gave me a blanket.

Hailey: Hey Kev, can I use your phone?

Kevin: Yeah of course here.

I called Jay.

Hailey: Jay.

Jay: Hailey are you ok?

Hailey: Yeah I think so.

Jay: Hailey, I'm so sorry.

Hailey: What are you sorry for? You didn't do anything.

Jay: Yeah I guess you're right.

Hailey: Hey I will be in your arms in about an hour okay?

Jay: Okay.

I hung up. I still was thinking about how my dad was going to kill Jay but Kev put him in the back of a patrol car and then drove off. My mom and brothers were also in the house but I just sat in Kev's car. I didn't want to speak to people that let my dad abuse me. After they were gone I went out and stood next to Kev. I started to cry.

Kev: Hey Hey what's wrong.

Hailey: My dad said that he would kill everyone I ever knew.

Kev: Oh come here. He is not going to hurt anybody I promise.

Kev hugged me and I felt a little bit better.

Kev: Hey you hungry?

Hailey: Uh yes.

Kev: Ok let's get you some food and get you back to Jay.

Hailey: Thank you Kev.

Kev: Hey it's what friends do.

Kev and I got to Med. Kev walked me up to Jay's room and he was gone.
