(Arulla's POV)

"Aranel" He said again. My body stiffened again and I refused to look at Thorin. "Yes, I'm here." I sighed in exasperation and pulled the string of my bow tighter, "Now. Let. Them. Go." Legolas smirked.

"Dwarves? You are with dwarves and you want me to let them go? An elf, prays mercy on Mahal's creatures?"

I didn't even have to look to know the expression on Thorin's face as he growled. I turned my head sharply to him and gave him a pleading stare.

I turn back to Legolas, "I am merely helping some old friends of mine pass through here safely, and I have become rather fond of them all."

"Still. Why come here? You should know that Mirkwood is not safe, especially for someone so delicate."

This time, I growled, "Save your endearments Greenleaf. They won't work. Now let us pass."

Legolas turned to his other comrades and smirked, "Search them." He proclaimed, and the other Silvan Elves began to search the company. I growled fiercely when one elf came close to me, and I could all but see Thorin's proud smirk.

"Kíli!" Fíli shouted in relief as he saw his brother come out from the underbrush. He was about to run to his little brother, but was stopped by another elf. I growled lowly. "Are you alright Kíli?" I whisper as he passed me by, with a red headed elf following behind him.

Kíli smiled softly, "I'm fine. Not a scratch on me."

"... More will come...They are growing bolder" the red headed elf whispered.

"Legolas." An elf guard spoke, holding something that looked like- I surged forward but two guards came and held me back. I growled deeper. Thorin hid a smirk well at my distaste. But my focus was not on him, but on the elf prince who held a long silver blade in front of him.

"Echannen i vegil hen vin Gondolin. Magannen nan Gelydh. (This is an ancient Elvish blade. Forged by my kin.)" He said in awe as he swung it a few times to test the balance.

"Leave it Legolas." I spat, but alas men ignore.

"Where did you get this?" Legolas asked Thorin, but anger and distain was clearly evident on his face.

"It was given to me." He answered calmly. But Legolas was not convinced, and he pointed the end of the sword to the very top of Thorin's chin. "Not just a thief, but a liar as well." My control snapped.

I surged with all I had left and broke free of the guards restraints, barreling myself between Legolas and Thorin, my arm wrapping protectively around the left side of his waist, as his wrapped around my right. "Do. Not. Insult. My f-leader. In such fashion."

Legolas was firmly taken aback, and he moved backwards a few steps when he saw my eyes gleam bright as a roaring fire.

"Enwenno hain!" He shouted to the soldiers around us, never once taking his eyes from me. "Tauriel! Take her to my chambers, chained to the window and not to escape!"

My grip tightened in Thorin's cloak, and in retaliation, Thorin tightened his hold, but I went willingly, not wanting to cause any harm that might come from me or my overprotective father.

"I will find you, and get is out of this place I swear to you." I whispered softly in his ear before the guards began to pull me away. Thorin's smile was forced but he whispered quick and soft before I would be carried away, "Please be safe Ghivasheluh" and then I was forced away.

Faintly I could hear Bofur's voice as I walked, "......Where's Bilbo?" Then I smiled, because of there was one thing I knew about our burglar, is that he's one to call when wanting to be unseen. He'll get us out of here if I can't.

---------------------
They threw the company into cells as Thorin was taken to the ElvenKing, and I to Legolas' chambers chained in irons to a chair.

When Legolas returned his eyes were stone cold and his faced scrunched. "Why am I here?" I snarled.

"Because you and I need to talk."

I rolled my eyes and scoffed, "I have nothing to say to you Greenleaf. Why not just throw me in the dungeons with the rest of my company and let it go!"

"Let it go?! You left!!!" Legolas growled as he towered over me. "Without an explanation you never left your chambers in Rivendell one day and never came out until I left for Mirkwood again!!! Why?"

"Because you never saw me for who I was!!! Did you ever notice how short I was compared to you? Or how heavy my footsteps echoed throughout the hallways? Or how I could tell you a million things on rock and stone and yet not come up with a single work for fresh greenery and trees? You never even spent time to notice that I am not like you."

Legolas stood stock still and frozen, "i only thought you were born short and that you loved stones because they were perhaps from your childhood so I didn't press. But you can't truly mean that-" His face turned stricken with disbelief and he breathed deep inhales as he tried to calm himself. "You are a dwarf?"

I bowed my head to my knees as I spoke softly, "Yes."

-------------

(3rd person POV)

Legolas almost screamed inside. the woman that he had loved (still loved if he dug deep enough) was born of the race of his sworn enemy, and he hadn't even known it, and yet he had fallen in love with her.

Arulla raised her head and gazed solemnly at him "Now you see the truth."

Legolas' face then changed. He was incensed and now not afraid to show it. he stomped over to the door and had the guard hand him the keys to the chains around The chair legs that held Arulla.

He quickly got to work on the chains as he unlocked them and harshly drug her out of his room and towards a winding staircase that lead up to a high platform.

"Where are you taking me?" Arulla asked, a small hint of fear in her voice.

Legolas smiled cruelly, "my king had chose to talk with your leader, trying to find out his reasonings on why he was passing through his lands."

Arulla scoffed, "He will never get them. My leader is as strong as mithril. He will never break."

"Which is why you I am taking you with me." Legolas growled.
