Bel's POV:
As the meal progresses Elijah and I make pleasant conversation with Damon and Nik, but Stefan doesn't seem too willing to talk. Elijah tries to get him into the conversation. "Stefan, where is the lovely Elena tonight." I hold back a laugh at his use of 'lovely'. "I don't know. Ask Damon."
Elijah looks confused at this while Nik just laughs a little. "I'm sorry. You missed so much. Uh, trouble in paradise." "One more word about Elena, and, uh, this dinner is over." Stefan warns. I go to say something when Nik shoots me a look. I close my mouth.
Can this dinner party from hell just be over with already? "Yeah, you know what. It's probably best just to keep Elena in the do not discuss pile." Damon adds. Thank God. "You're probably right." Nik agrees. "Yeah."
"It's just...the allure of the Petrova doppelgänger is still so strong. What do you say brother? Should we tell them about Tatia." I glare I have no interest in hearing about any of Elena's look alikes. "Now why should we discuss matters long since resolved?" Elijah asks.
"Well, given their shared affection for both Elena and Katerina, I think our guests might be curious to learn about the originator of the Petrova line." "Well, we're not going anywhere Elijah. Please. Do tell." I roll my eyes and stand up. I don't want to talk about this.
"Where are you going love?" Klaus asks, concerned. "To the bathroom." With that I walk out of the room, leaving the men to talk. I walk through the house to the bathroom near the kitchen. I go in lock the door. I run my hands through my hair.
I wanted an Elena free evening, preferable an Elena free life, but she always seems to pop up. I glare at my reflection. She ruins everything. Just when I think I've rid myself of her, she manages to wiggle her way into the lives of not only me, but the people I care about.
Even if he says he won't, I know if it came down to saving Elena or saving me then Nik would save her because I'm just a witch who he's taken a liking too, she's the key to making his hybrids. It's a hard realization to come to terms with, but I'm doing the best I can.
I don't know how long I stay in the bathroom, but soon I hear more voices coming from the dining room and front door opening and closing. What? Who's here? Making sure I'm presentable, I leave the bathroom and head back towards the dining room.
"Oh, you're right. None of will be." I hear Elijah say. When I get there my eyes widen to see. Klaus, Elijah, Rebekah, and two men I do not know. The Salvatore brothers are gone by now. "You're staying behind." The unknown man with long hair says.
"We're leaving you Nik. Right after I kill that doppelgänger wench. And you will be alone. Always and Forever." Rebekah says. Nik spots me over their shoulders. "Bel?" They all turn to look at me as I slowly walk back into the room.
The unknown man with short brown hair speeds in front of me. "Lydia darling. How are you here?" He asks, shocked. "I'm not Lydia. I'm her doppelgänger, Jezebel Gilbert." "Well, then, it's a pleasure. Kol Mikaelson." He says, taking my hand and kissing it. I pull it back, confused.
"What's going on here?" I ask, walking between Nik and his siblings. Nik has angry tears in his eyes. "If you run, I will hunt all of you down." He says, stepping close to me. "And then you will become everything you hate. Our father." Elijah reminds him.
"I'm the hybrid! I can't be killed! I have nothing to fear from any of you." "You will when we have that coffin." Elijah says. I step in front of Nik protectively. "I liked you Elijah. Please don't make me fight you." I warn, pleading with my eyes. Kol laughs. "And what can you do darling?" I glare.
"Do not provoke her Kol. You remember how powerful Lydia was. She's at least that strong." Elijah warns him. Suddenly a woman with long blonde hair, wearing an ancient dress walks into the house. I turn to see Nik's eyes widen. Everyone turns to look at her.
"Mother?" Rebekah breaths. She ignores her daughter and walks past Nik's siblings and myself to stand in front of her hybrid son. "Look at me." She demands. He does, a tear streaking down his face. "Do you know why I'm here?" She asks. "You're here to kill me." He mutters.
I take a step forwards. "Niklaus you are my son, and I'm here to forgive you." She says. Shock radiates through me. She turns to face me and the others. "I want us to be a family again." Something doesn't seem right though. Something's off.
I don't trust her, but seeing the look of relief on Nik's face keeps me quiet. If I am just being over protective then I don't want him to doubt her, but if I'm not then I want to be on guard. She then turns to me. "You must be Jezebel." I nod, not knowing what to do.
I feel out of place so I look to Nik. "I'm going to head home. Let all of you talk." He nods and I turn towards the door. I leave the house in total shock. Did that really just happen? Is Esther Mikaelson really alive? Are her intentions truly pure?
So many questions and not enough answers. I drive him with thoughts swimming through my head. I'm going to sleep on it. Hopefully I'll know what to make of all of this in the morning. I just hope that her intentions are good. Nik needs a little good in his life. His family can be that good.
Maybe, just maybe things are looking up for once.
