A reason to meet you again

_____________

He lifted his hand, cupping her cheek and pulled her face closer. They pulled away from each other, gazing into each other's eyes. She leaned into his touch as his thumb stroked her cheek softly.

"I wish this could last forever... I don't want to leave you," She said softly.

"I don't want you to leave either, but you have to... and please make sure you change so you don't get sick on your flight," He said worriedly.

"I will, and I'll make sure to keep your handkerchief safe as well," She said, smiling at him. "Thank you for everything that you've done for me, for comforting me even when we barely knew each other. Your handkerchief gave me something as well, you know."

"What did it give you?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.

"A reason to meet you again." He panicked as he saw the tears that rolled down her cheeks once again.

"Don't cry," He said, tears filled his eyes also. He cupped her face and wiped her tears away.

"I hope we will meet each other properly when I come back," She said, smiling at him.

"As I said, as long as you keep the handkerchief, I will always find you," He said as he placed her hair behind her ear. "Shouldn't we just greet each other now?"

"If that happens, I wouldn't want to leave," She said, frowning. "Getting your name gives me a reason to finish studying quickly, then finally coming back to find you."

He laughed at her and nodded. She came close and wrapped her arms around his waist, then buried her face in his chest.

"I have to go," She said, pulling away. "I'm going to miss you."

"Do you have to?" He pouted, making her avert her eyes to the ground. He grabbed her hand, intertwining them.

"Thank you again, until we meet next time," She lifted her gaze, staring at him through her eyelashes.

She rubbed her thumb over his hand before letting go. Her heart felt heavy as she did. She bit her lips, pushing back the tears that brimmed her eyes. She breathed deeply and smiled at him even though her heart squeezed at the thought of leaving him.

"See you around, stranger," He said, watching her walk backward.

"See you around, handkerchief boy," She said, laughing at the nickname she gave him. He laughed along with her and watched her figure disappear.

"So? Who was that?" Jeno asked as soon as she got into the car. He stared at the figure who walked away. He couldn't pinpoint it, but the boy looked kind of familiar.
