𝐌𝐘 𝐅𝐀𝐂𝐄 𝐏𝐀𝐋𝐄𝐃 𝐀𝐒 𝐈 took a step back, my stomach feeling worse than ever. Head pounding, I moved away from the vehicle and over towards a tree, putting all my weight against it.

My breathing grew heavy as my eyes began to unfocus, and that's when I realized I was going to be sick.

Leaning over a bush, I let all the contents out from my stomach, in a disgustingly hot sensation. The acidy, foul and warm contests flew out of my mouth before I could do anything else. Luckily, I avoided it getting on my clothes, but instead, I caught the boy's attention.

"Y/n," Zach exclaimed as he rushed towards my side.

My blood-covered hand slid down the tree trunk, as my breathing grew worse. "Just stay there, please," I begged them, hoping they would understand.

I knew that if Gray came any closer, he would've been two seconds away from ending up like me; hunched over with her dinner spilling from her lips.

Using my semi-clean hand, I wiped my mouth of any leftover contents that never hit the jungle floor. "Are you okay?" Gray asked uneasily.

"I'm okay," I replied weakly. Zach moved towards me hesitantly, placing an arm around my waist. "Can you grab the bottle of water from my bag?" I asked him quietly as I leaned against him.

Digging through my bag, he handed me the bottle, already uncapped. I waterfalled the liquids into my mouth, not wanting to contaminate the top.

I swished the water around my mouth, before spitting it out off to the side. I could still taste the aftertaste, which made me want to hurl again.

"What happened?" Zach whispered to me as Gray dug around for something in his fanny pack.

I couldn't muster the words together, so instead, I held out my hand, showing the blood that was now dried.

Zach didn't speak.

He just took my hand in his, dumped the water onto my palm, and began scrubbing with his fingers. A minute later, my hand was clean and my stomach was feeling less nauseous than before.

"Thank you," I said as Gray walked over to me, mint in his hand. I smiled softly as I took the mint from his little fingers. I popped it in my mouth and he grinned, "I owe you,"

"What's that?" I asked as my eyes landed on a huge building, covered from head to toe in vines and other large plants.

The creaking door echoed through the building, making the silence even more terrifying. Dark vines laced the walls; dirt caked the glass panels that filled the building; plants blossomed and old bones were scattered around the ground, as well as a wrinkled banner that must be twenty years old, by now.
