𝐌𝐘 𝐄𝐘𝐄𝐒 𝐅𝐋𝐔𝐓𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐄𝐃 𝐎𝐏𝐄𝐍 𝐀𝐒 a woman brushed my leg as she passed, apologizing softly as she did so. Nimble fingers tucked a strand of hair behind my ear as Zach looked towards me, a small, gentle smile moving onto his lips.
I pressed my cheek deeper into his neck as his hand ran down my arm and lingered next to my hand. Using any last energy that I could muster, I grabbed it and squeezed it with my fingers.
"How are you feeling?" He whispered into my ear as I looked up at him. My chin was now resting on his shoulder as I stared into his brown eyes, not completely sure how I was feeling.
"Alive," I replied as I shifted my body towards his, "And tired," I added quietly.
"You should go back to sleep then," He grinned and I rolled my eyes.
"I can't though," I answered receiving a chuckle.
Adults and kids chattered to their families or doctors that surrounded the airport hanger. It was filled with people coming in or leaving by themself or reacquainted family members.
I could see Owen helping a few people get back to their families, which I thought was more important than sitting with me. An hour earlier, I had called my mom, well, actually, she had received a call explaining that she needed to come to Costa Rica.
Claire sat behind me with Gray, stroking his hair softly as he laid away, unable to sleep. Leaning back against Zach, he kissed the top of my head, as I tried to close my eyes once again.
Suddenly, Claire gasped and turned around. "Oh, my god, it's your parents," She told the boys. I lifted myself off of Zach, allowing him to go see his mom and dad, who were most likely, extremely worried.
A blond woman and a dark-haired man jogged towards us, pulling both boys into an individual hug. I watched from my seat as tears rolled down their cheeks as they hugged their parents.
"Are you okay? Oh, baby," I could hear their mother cry. Then, she moved towards Claire, pulling her into a tight hug, asking if she was okay.
Then, she moved over to Zach, hugging him as well, for a minute or two. Zach glanced towards me and I offered him a soft smile, not sure how to feel at the moment.
He offered a hand out to me, and I hesitantly grabbed it as he pulled me off of the medical bed I was stationed on. "This is, uh, Y/n," He introduced to his parents.
Without another word shared between us, their mom pulled me into a tight hug, rubbing up and down my back. "You can call me Karen," She whispered to me as I hugged her back.
Tears rolled down my cheeks as my body shook in her arms. "Y/n?" I heard my name called as I pulled away from Karen. I shared a glance with Zach as I looked past him and towards the familiar lady who was running towards me.
"Mom!" I yelled as I ran towards her. Throwing my arms around her neck, she held on to my tightly, kissing the side of my head as she returned the gesture. "I'm so, so, so, so, sorry," I whispered as I cried into her arms.
"It's okay, baby, I know," She answered as she wiped the tears off of my cheeks. "You're safe now,"
I gave her a weak smile before hugging her once again, not wanting to leave the warmth of her tight embrace.

Six months.
Six months have passed since the Jurassic World incident. The same incident that cost hundreds of people, as well as dinosaurs, their lives. The same incident that had brought Zach and I closer than before, and allowed me to connect more with my Uncle.
Although what happened was a tragedy, I still try to see the good in it. Like how I met and bonded with Gray, as well as Claire, and how, when I'm older, I never want to work with prehistoric animals.
Parking my car in the driveway, I slipped out of my vehicle with my brown bag in my hand. I slammed the door closed, attracting the attention of Gray who was hanging out with his friends outside.
The, now slightly taller, Gray, whose blond hair was shorter than the last time I had seen him. He raced away from his friends and into my arms as he gave me a giant hug.
I hugged him back tightly before his friends, who were still in the middle of their game, called him back over. "Zach!" He shouted before he joined his friends, "Y/n's here!"
"I know!" Zach yelled back playfully as he walked out his front door.
I walked towards him, a huge smile on my face. Grabbing my hips, he quickly planted a kiss on my lips before leading me inside.
"Eww!" Gray's friends exclaimed after we closed the door.
"Y/n, you're here," Karen announced as she shuffled out of the kitchen, taking the hair clip out of her hair. Her blonde locks fell around her shoulders as walked towards me.
Pulling me into a quick hug, she asked, "Are you staying for dinner?"
Glancing at Zach, he nodded. "If that's okay with you," I suggested and she grinned.
"You're practically family," She gave us a small wave before she re-entered the kitchen.
Gray was right. They did end up getting divorced. Both boys still got to spend time with each of their parents, and after a few months, Gray learned that it wasn't completely unbearable.
He always told me that I made things better when I visited, which always put a smile on my face. And from time to time, when I wasn't with Zach, I would hang out with just Gray.
Pulling my hand, Zach led me upstairs and into his room. I tossed my bag onto his bed as he sat down next to it, pulling me in between his legs.
Kissing my cheek softly, I laughed. "I thought we were supposed to be hanging out,"
"We are hanging out," He mumbled as he kissed my other cheek and moved to my forehead.
"But I brought snacks and everything," I explained as I pulled away, reaching past him for my bag. Digging inside, I found a pack of Twizzlers that I had purchased on my way over.
"Oh then...um," He stuttered as his hands dropped from my waist.
A cheeky smile appeared on my lips as I watched him stared at his hands awkwardly. Using my finger, I lifted his chin until his eyes met mine. "You are the most gullible person I've ever met,"
"But the snacks?" He asked, confused.
"I brought them for a movie later, idiot," I snaked my hands around his neck, pulling him into a sweet kiss. "I'd much rather do this,"
"It's just you and me?" He asked as his lips brushed against my neck.
"Just you and me," I confirmed.
A smile painted on his lips as he grabbed my waist, pulling me down onto his bed. A laughed loudly as he kissed my cheek.
All in all, out of everything that has happened... It was worth it.
He was worth it.
