It is a few days after Christmas, two days since Daddy travelled to Riyadh and exactly a week since Amina's brother's wedding. The festivities are still ongoing in lieu of new year.

Fatima is dreading the new year as that would start the countdown to her resumption. She missed school but she also didn't want to leave mama all alone.

She was laying on her bed and randomly scrolling through her phone when a call comes in. It was Muhammad and a smile instantly lighted up her face. They have become a lot more close since they started talking. She liked that he wasn't rushing things and was doing things at her own pace.

She couldn't say for sure she was in love with him yet, but she surely has started to like him. They are so alike yet so different in so many aspects. For example, they both loved anime and horror movies but he hated sea food and that was her favorite kind of food. There was also their shared passion for medicine. He loved staying home in the comfort of his bed and she on the other hand, loved going out as long as it was with people she was comfortable with or even alone sometimes.

Their conversations were never boring or awkward. He is a very reserved person yet manages to somehow always keep the conversation lively. She loved how he always corrected her whenever she made any mistake I'm regards to Islam. It was never demeaning rather very helpful and it made her feel happy. At least she was getting something meaningful out of the whole thing. And the way he always has a solution to any problem she tells him of, totally melts her heart.

"As-Salaam Alaiki" he greets as soon as she picks. "Wa Alaika As-Salaam, hey!" She greets back.

"How has your day been?" He asks. "Boring, I've been in my room since morning doing random things and I've finally come to terms with the fact that school is resuming so i started packing just before you called." She rambled.

"At least you're being productive. Why don't you want to go back to school tho?" He asks curiously.

"I actually miss school. I just don't want to leave mama. She's going to be all alone and I don't like being away from her" she complains. He chuckles, "but you know it's inevitable yeah? You would have to leave her permanently one day." He explains. "I know! I'm just dreading leaving is all. Now forget about me, how has your day been?" She asks.

"Quite productive and boring as usual. I just rounded up a shift and on my way home now." He says and the conversation continues until they've been talking for almost thirty minutes. He has finally arrived home so he bids her good bye and promised to call later before ending the call.

Fatima decided she was tired of staying in her room so she put on a more appropriate outfit and went down to see what the household was up to. The two maids were in the kitchen, one cooking lunch and the other assisting in whatever little way she could. Her main job was cleaning the house and since she was already done with that, she decided to stay in the kitchen and learn a few thing. Mama was in the backyard talking with her mother; Fatima's grandmother. Fatima walks up to mama and makes her self comfortable on the chair next to her mother's. "Mama let me talk to dada!" She says excitedly. Her mom eyes her and continues her call. Fatima pouts and folds her arms childishly.

When mama was done, she gave her the phone as she hit her head playfully. "Takwara ta!" Dada exclaimed as soon as Fatima placed the phone on her ear. "Na'am dada na. Barka da wuni." Fatima greets. "How are you baby?" She asks. "Alhamdu lilLah Dada" Fatima replies. "You didn't come to see me koh." Dada complains.
