My alarm goes off loudly and I roll off my bed ungraciously. I get ready for work by putting my hair into a sleek low bun and my maid uniform for the day. I brush my teeth and put some deodorant, perfume, and shoes on before leaving my room. As I walk out of my room Lizzy walks out of her room simultaneously.

"Hey Lizzy!" I greet her cheerily. I am going to have a great day, and a great week.

"I stayed up until midnight waiting for you," she tells me quietly as she walks beside me. She is walking looking down at the floor looking pretty upset. My heart shatters a bit at the sight of my new best friend being hurt by my actions. Intentionally or not I hurt her. My secrets are starting to push her away. I cant even tell her the entire truth.

"I am so sorry Lizzy," I apologize to her. She continues walking in front of me and sighs.

"I promise Ill make it up to you!" I run around her excitedly hoping to get her spirits up. She looks up to me and breaks her frown with a tiny smile.

"Did you forget about our girls night?" she asks me. She starts walking with her head up and is seeming to recover from her sad mood.

"No! Of course not," I tell her. I am really appreciating the long hallways right now. They are allowing for Lizzy and I to talk it out. They really did me dirty last night though.

"I was walking back to my room and my stupid brain wanted to take the long way back to my room," I start explaining to her.

"You dont know the layout well enough Cartia," she slightly teases my stupidity. So she did notice that I have no clue about the palace layout. I guess some of my acting has not been as good as I thought it was.

"I got lost and... I asked someone for help. By the time I got back it was nearly one in the morning and I went to bed. I truly am sorry," I apologize to her. She nods her head at me. We already reached the first room we were going to clean today.

"Apology accepted," she smiles at me and we begin to work. I feel much more at ease knowing I did not just ruin my only friendship here.

What I have learned from the past week or so of being here is that dusting, mopping, sweeping, and cleaning an already spotless castle is really therapeutic. I start work and work for about eight hours and then call it a day. Those eight hours go by surprisingly fast because I am not just dwelling on my problems.

The work day comes to an end again and I make my way to Lizzy quickly. I grab her arm and start lightly tugging her with me. I need to make things right with my only friend, and I need help with my parents.

"Lets go relax to basically one of the only places I know how to get to in the castle," I tell her and she follows me.

"I need to give you a map, Cartia. Why did you not ask me for help earlier?" she asks me. I ponder the thought of trusting her with my biggest secret. Letting her in on all my secret endeavors after work. She hasnt given me any reason not to trust her. She has only tried helping me.

"Yeah a map sounds like a good idea," I chuckle uneasily as we enter the large doors that lead into the library.

"I need to come in here more often to read," Lizzy looks around in awe. She takes a few seconds to silently admire the majestic library and remembers shes here with me. We sit on the same couches I sat on with the Prince on Saturday. I sigh and take a deep breath.

"Lizzy I havent been completely honest with you."
