( a couple of weeks later)

"Tu salaud!" Wattson spat on Caustic's grave. Crypto didn't look away as Natalie continuously stomped on the earth below her. "Brûle en l'enfer!"

No one went to his funeral except for Bangalore and Lifeline. Bangalore said she only went because she wanted to pay her respects to Caustic as a solider and Lifeline went so Bangalore wouldn't be alone. She was also a humanitarian, but Crypto didn't know if that counted.

Wattson began to cry and fell to her knees.

Crypto came up behind her and held onto her shoulders. She immediately turned around and looked up at him. They both had their knees in the dirt. Crypto wrapped his arms around Wattson as tight as he could, while also not trying to hurt her. They sat there in one another's arms for a long time. Crypto didn't mind at all.

(One month later)

"All healed up" Ajay said as she finished checking Crypto's pulse. She takes the stethoscope out of her ears and smiled.
"Everything looks just fine"

Lifeline took off the bandages revealing his strong collarbone structure and pectoral muscles.

"So," said Lifeline looking at her felt at then desperately looking back at Crypto, "how's Natalie doing?"

Crypto just shook his head and then putting his face into his hands leaning forward.

Lifeline put a comforting hand on his shoulder.

"I've been trying my best." He says "she's been hurting herself. Mentally... and physically."

"I know you are." She said rubbing his bare back

"I love her."
Then why did she kiss me back then?

"I know you do. It's been on ya face since you arrived. She'll come back to you," Ajay says "she always does. She's a strong girl."

Crypto slips back on his black, loose fitting t-shirt. "I'm going to go check on her."

Ajay just nods and Crypto exits the infirmary.

Natalie's nightmares have really been getting to her Crypto thinks as he walks along the street down to his apartment.

Natalie hasn't been able to go back and get her stuff ever since the legends spent the night at Mirage's ship, then left immediately, all going their separate ways after the incident with Caustic. The Apex games were put off for another whole season.

It was nearing October now, things were getting a little chilly. Crypto exits the hospital, it's the afternoon now so he puts on his black leather jacket and pulls up the collar. Crypto warms his hands in his pockets and walks back to his apartment.

He clicks open his apartment door and all the lights are off. It's dark. Wattson never liked the dark, is she already asleep? It's only 6 pm..

Crypto looks around the couches near a big windowsill taking up the whole wall. He imagined Wattson to be curled up in one of his many blankets draped around the black couches that formed a square around the living room. She wasn't there. She must be in his room. Well.. their room now.

Wattson didn't want to be alone. These past few weeks she's been staying with Crypto in his apartment. Crypto made sure to gather her essentials from her room on mirage's boat. He even intertwined his shopping list with foods she loved so she'd feel at home. Crypto would usually sleep with Wattson in his bed but they never spooned or anything since the first night after, well- you know. They haven't discussed it, yet, but Crypto always knows it's on her mind even if she's good at hiding it. She's has had multiple panic attacks in the middle of the night and Crypto would wake up to the sound of her crying and try to calm her down. Sometimes she would cry so much she'd pass out in Crypto's arms as he held her in her sleep.
