"Just knock... Knock..."
Ryeo tried to pep himself up. The young man had been standing outside of the residence that Natalee had given him thorough instructions for but he couldn't bring himself to physically knock.
A few passers by threw him curious looks. Maybe he looked like a delinquent with his sneakers and worn skateboard. Ryeo sighed and reached out to knock on the door when it opened slowly.

Natalee Rodgers smiled with a knowing look in her eyes. Her outfit of choice was an old tie dye t-shirt and shorts. Her flat ironed hair rested at her collar bone and she tucked a piece behind her ear.
"You're early. Eager to make something other than instant noodles, huh?" She teased.

Ryeo felt his cheeks warm and nodded. Natalee made him... nervous.

Natalee ushered him inside her home and held out slippers for him to slip his feet into. Ryeo placed his skateboard next to the door and hung his jacket on one of the racks. Natalee's eyes darkened when they fell on his broad chest that was expertly outlines by the fitted shirt he wore.

Gosh, he's tall..
Natalee thought to herself.

Ryeo looked around at all the things in her home and stood awkwardly in the middle of the living room. He buried his shaking hands in his pockets and looked at his shoes.

Gentle giant.

Natalee stood in front of him and cocked her head to the side.
"You ok?"

Ryeo straightened up and nodded quickly.
"I've never been inside a girl's home.."
He rubbed the back of his neck with his hand.

Natalee's eyes widened and she nodded.
"Was it everything you expected?"

Ryeo shrugged.
"I don't know what I was expecting so I have nothing to compare it to.."
he answered softly.

Natalee motioned toward the kitchen and Ryeo followed behind her silently.

Natalee pulled up two bar stools to the kitchen island.
"Today we'll be making a simple dish." A plate of meat was set out on the counter, surrounded by three bowls. One the bowls had egg yolks, another bowl had bread crumbs, and the last bowl had seasonings.

Ryeo peered down into each bowl but he was at a loss. He knew that it would be something fried because of the egg yolks and bread crumbs. Natalee's little rice cooker was steaming rice off to the side.

"What are we making?"
Ryeo asked.

Maggie grabbed a clean plate and put a clean skillet on the eye she turned on so they didn't have to wait very long to start.
"We're making Katsudon."

Ryeo smiled, his eyes sparkling like a happy child.
"I love Katsudon."

Natalee made sure to remember that little bit of information for the future.

"Really? Now you can eat your favorite food all the time. You'll save more money that way and you might find a girlfriend. A man that can cook is a hot commodity."
Natalee replied. She grabbed salt and pepper first, sprinkling it onto the lean cuts of pork before rubbing the pork down with a meat seasoning. Ryeo watched her almond shaped, polished nails get dirtied. Natalee wanted to make sure each side of it was evenly coated before she turned to him and told him to do the same with his own piece of pork. Ryeo mimicked her actions and they moved on to dipping the meat in the egg.

"We're at the half way mark. Now roll each piece into the bread crumbs and meet me at the stove."
Natalee stated. She made quick work of collecting the bowls and plates, washed them, and was wiping down the counter by the time Ryeo completed his task.
