Fear the LORD (part 4)

If you could not fear the Lord, can you at least fear His punishments and wrath ("But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger."--Romans 2:8)? Have you heard what happen to the stubborn pharaoh? After so many warning, the pharaoh remained stubborn God put his entire people and city under curse (Exodus). So keep it mind that God is sad and angry when we are stubborn (see also Mark 3:5). And like a father that sees his stubborn child who continually sin, he disciplined him by beating him (Proverbs 13:24).

But what is most fearsome for the sinners is Judgment Day. It is the end of time where all people dead and alive will be judge, if they will go to paradise or hell. And this event will come to us without specific time or day. Not even the angels nor Jesus Christ knows when will it come. ("Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded."--James 4:8)

Do you know what the Lord said about that adulterous guy who tempted you to sin? Jesus said to his disciples, "Things that make people fall into sin are bound to happen, but how terrible for the ONE (that adulterous guy) who makes them happen! It would be better for him (that guy) if a large millstone were tied around his neck and he were thrown into the sea than for him to cause one of these little ones to sin." (Luke 17:1-2 / Matthew 18:6 / Mark 9:42) Here is what Jesus said next for you to do, "If your hand or your foot makes you lose your faith, cut it off and throw it away! It is better for you to enter life without a hand or a foot than to keep both hands and both feet and thrown into the eternal fire. And if your eyes makes you lose your faith, take it out and throw it away! It is better for you to enter life with only one eye than to keep both eyes and be thrown into the fire of hell." (Matthew 18:8-9) So if that guy is causing you to lose your faith and sin, then cut that guy off from your life, or be thrown into eternal fire of hell.

Are you not afraid of Hell? But your pride and determination to sin is telling me and God that you are not afraid of hell. Let me tell you then about hell. Here are some descriptions of Hell, Abyss, Hades, or Inferno which is described by the Bible:

1.      There 'the worms that eat them never die, and the fire that burns them is never put out.' (Mark 9:48)

2.      "As they leave, they will see the dead bodies of those who have rebelled against me. The worms that eat them will never die, and the fire that burns them will never be put out. The sight of them will be disgusting to all people." (Isaiah 66:24)

3.      Then the Devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had already been thrown, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever. ( Revelation 20:10)

4.      Then death and into the lake of fire. (This lake of fire is the second death.) Those who did not have their name written in the book of the living were thrown into the lake of fire. (Revelation 20:14-15)

5.      So he called out, 'Father Abraham! Take pity on me, and send Lazarus to dip his finger in some water and cool off my tongue, because I am in great pain in this fire! (Luke 16:24)

6.      And throw them into the fiery furnace. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. (Matthew 13:50)
