Chapter 4: coincidence

Rachel woke up relatively early the following morning with a slight pain in her back from sleeping on the couch. Not wanting to waste the day, she got up quietly and had a quick shower, washing her hair. She put on a short burgundy skirt and a plain white t shirt with short butterfly sleeves tucked in nicely. She curled her hair into some natural looking waves and did some light makeup before pairing the look with some chunky ankle boots.

After Beth woke up, Quinn arrived soon afterwards and after thanking Rachel she took her home. Rachel decided to not to mention Jesse as she didn't want to worry her with the thoughts that he may be back in town. She began to tidy the apartment but got interrupted by a call from Sam.

"Hey princess" he smiled down the the phone.

"Hey sammy, what's up?" She asked sweetly as she sat back on the couch.

"Well puck had Santana over last night and they're all over each other so I was wondering if you'd want to keep me company, and I can also tell you about my totally awesome date" he asked and Rachel quickly agreed, they said their goodbyes before hanging up and Rachel quickly left to go over.

When she arrived at sam's sixth floor apartment she used her to key to get inside and her eyes widened when she saw a familiar figure sat next to Sam who looked just as surprised to see her. She figured that he hadn't connected the dots to realise that she was sam's best friend Rachel yet but he was about to.

"Hey rach, Finn came over after our phone call and the more the merrier right? I've been trying to get the two of you to meet for a while, typical how it happens by accident huh?" Sam chuckled and completely missed the flirtatious smile on Finn's mouth.

"Santana can I talk to you outside?" Rachel asked urgently, and before she could answer she already grabbed Santana's wrist and pulled her outside to the hall.

"Woah woah woah, what's wrong Berry?".

"That's HIM" Rachel whisper shouted.

"Who?"

"The guy I made out with in the store, I even ran into him yesterday when I had Beth" she panicked as she leaned against the wall.

"That's him!" Santana repeated excitedly. "Well Berry, you look hot" she summed up simply and even Rachel couldn't hold back a small smile.

"Won't it be awkward?" She asked insecurely and Santana shook her head before grabbing Rachel's hand and pulling her back inside. The 3 men watched them confused as they took a seat, Santana on puck's lap and Rachel on the single seater facing Finn.

"Anyway, I guess I better formally introduce you two. Rae, this is Finn. Finn this is Rachel" Sam said quickly and Santana smirked.

"Oh they've met" she giggles at the death stare she received from Rachel. "He was Rachel's mysterious underwear store kiss" she said as her eyes sparkled and the pair turned a light shade of pink.

"Oh really?" Sam asked amused, and thought that he could have some fun with the pair.

"You look great today Rachel, doesn't she look great Finn?" Sam asked innocently. Knowing what her best friend was doing, Rachel shook her head disapprovingly.

"Yeah she does. Love the skirt" Finn answered with a grin making her flush.

"So Sam, how was your date? I mean Beth stayed at my house last night so I can only imagine what you guys got up to" Rachel said quickly, trying to bring attention away from her and Finn.

"It was great, we're going out again next weekend" he says with a smile and Rachel wonders why she didn't introduce the two earlier.

Rachel looked over at Santana and puck who seemed to be very cosy, she had only met the guy a few times seeing as he lived with Sam and she knew he was Santana's type and could see them being together in the long run. Much to her dismay, Sam wasn't done with his talks of Rachel and Finn.
