It's the weekend. Expect almost all of the uploads during the weekend because of school.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~This bus was unbelievably hot and boring. Ever since we stopped at the hotel, we've been just sitting, in the heat, doing nothing. My phone died about 20 minutes ago, and I was just left here, to ignore the people around me.
The girl behind me was still trying to talk to me, even though I was listening to music on my MP3 player. At least the guy next to me has given up on talking to me. I was happy about that, but not happy about the brunette behind me.
Eventually, Olivia walked onto the bus, and I saw the people on the bus in front of us getting off. I put two and two together and figured out that we would finally be leaving the bus. I smiled at that fact.
I turned my music off as the bus started to quiet down.
"My name is Mrs. Banks. I am the band director here. I want you to respect me. If you respect me, I'll respect you." Olivia announced to the bus. "I believe that Jet had told you everything that is going to happen today. We aren't going to be marching till tomorrow, so be prepared for tomorrow. There is a schedule posted in everyone's rooms, so I will not accept tardies."
Everyone nodded their heads, and not a single word was muttered. Everyone seemed to have respected her already, even myself. Olivia wasn't an evil step mother like you would expect in Fairy Tales. She was actually really awesome. I wouldn't be here right now if it wasn't for her.
Actually, I take some of that back. If it wasn't for her, I could still be at home with my cat Bobo cuddling on my bed while watching Netflix, But I still love her no matter what.
"Since everyone here understands perfectly, you can get out and collect your luggage." Olivia tells the bus full of kids. "And Lauryn," She says, and my eyes widen. She was looking straight at me. "Come see Mr. Banks and I afterwards. We have to talk to you."
My cheeks flushed. She called me out in a bus full of people that I barely knew. I really hope they don't find out that Olivia is my step mom and 'Mr. Banks' Is my father. I don't know if I could handle that. People would want to get all Goody goody with me so they can be better with my parents.
They might also treat me differently because I am related to them. I looked at her and nodded my head, saying I would.
I stood up and pocketed my phone and MP3 player before joining the crowd of people exiting the bus. I don't know what she wanted to talk about, I just know I was scared.
But what i they're going to tell me I can room with them. I would be happy with that, because then I wont have to deal with the girls I have to share a room with. I can stay up as late as I want and get up later because they might have their own personal stash of food in their room, so I won't have to go down to the cafeteria to eat.
That would be nice.
I was the last one to leave the bus. Well, at least I thought I was. Jet, the Drum major, was waiting for everyone to exit so he could be last to leave the bus. I remember Olivia saying something about Drum majors doing this to make sure everyone has gotten off and with all of their carry-on items.
I heard him say something to me, but I didn't quite catch what he had said. I twisted my head to face him. "What?" I asked him.
"I was just asking if you were the Lauryn Mrs. Banks was talking about." He told me. I nodded my head. "What instrument do you play?" He asked me.
By this time, we were already in the front of the bus and I needed to go down the stairs, so I turned my head to concentrate on that while answering, "Mellophone."
"If I remember right, there is only two of you guys, and the other is a freshman." Jet told me while doing the same with the steps. They really needed to fix these things. By now we were off of the bus and in the parking lot. I could see a Football feild right next to where the Hotel stood, and what appeared to be a cafeteria on the other side of it.
"I guess it's a good this Olivia recruited me then." I laughed breathy, shaking my hair to one side of my head because it had ended up in my face. My eyes widened for a second time when I realized what I had just said said.
He looked at me weird. I made a mistake by calling her Olivia.
"Why do you call her Olivia?" He asked.
Before I had anytime to answer, I heard Dad shout my name. I turned my head to see him standing with Olivia and holding my luggage.
"Oh look! Mr. Banks is calling me. Looks like I have to go!" I hastily told him before dashing away, heading towards the two. "Let's go talk in your guy's room. Please!" I begged him. He gave me a weird look, but nodded anyways, and we took off into the Hotel.
