Peaceful Blackness
With a shaky hand, I pop off the razor and slowly bring it up to my left wrist, gently pushing down. With a small movement of my wrist, I push down harder and harder while sliding the razor across the surface until I feel it break through my skin like paper. I gasp at the pain as it slowly turns to pleasure when I realize this pain overpowers the other pains I'm feeling. A smile forms on my face while I watch a stream of dark red blood ooze from the cut, sliding from my wrist, down my fingertips and into the running water turning it a light shade of pink. Filled with a feeling of satisfaction and desperation, I push harder while sliding the blade across my wrist and forearm in crisscross lines, cutting away layers of skin until blood is covering the sink and pouring out of the marks covering my arm. Then, after quickly rinsing my arm—not making a difference in the flow of blood streaming down my arm—I switch hands and do the same to my right. It's hard to move my left hand, but somehow I make deeper cuts and I deeply sever an artery.
Perfect.
Once I'm satisfied with what I've done and there's a constant flow of blood streaming from both wrists, I look at myself in the mirror above the sink. Angrily, I try to slide my hand across the glass but it's like my arm weighs a ton so I only leave a small splatter of blood.
Why can't I have a different life? One where I'm not bullied, I get to wear what I want, my parents notice me, I'm pretty and I'm loved?
As if all my energy was sucked out by a vacuum, I fall to the floor. Now their wishes can come true. Weakly, I write on the floor with blood, 'Now everyone can be happy.' Suddenly, it feels almost as if I can feel my body shutting down and my vision goes blurry. Goodbye this terrible, terrible world.
Slowly, I drift off into a peaceful darkness.
