Everything Obito-Sensei said went into one ear and out the other due to (y/n)'s obvious nervousness. She couldn't remember the information he gave her regarding the other participants or what challenge comes first. Was it the team challenge or the maze? She didn't know how to prepare herself; should she practice her kunai precision or her analyzation skills for the time being? She couldn't ask the older Uchiha to repeat himself because the students had to separate themselves from the teachers.

The participants -(y/n) included- were in an underground lounge that was lit up by a yellow-tinted light produced by electricity. Foldable chairs and tables lined half the room while the other half had a couch that faced a television that featured the brackets, field, and anything else sports-festival related, (y/n) assumed. Scattered around the room were shinobi stretching, meditating, and going through a mental check list of their weapon's needs. (y/n), herself, checked her chest rig (a replacement for her kunai pouch) to make sure that she was perfectly stacked with kunai, shuriken, paper bombs, and smoke bombs. She doesn't usually use smoke bombs because she prefers to take any opponent head on. However, those diversions were reserved for emergencies.

A man and woman entered the lounge room, both wearing their green vests that meant they were Hidden Leaf Jonin. "Gather 'round. Gather 'round," The man repeated, catching everyone's attention. He held a clipboard with disinterest, it dangling from his side. "We want to make sure everyone's here. If not, then we'll make the proper adjustments." Quickly, they called roll just like a teacher would.

"(l/n) (y/n)?"

"Here!" She said with almost too much enthusiasm. People turned their attention towards her, she wasn't well-known like many of her other peers. Naruto -on numerous accounts- visited the different villages in hope to leave his own fingerprint while Team Guy were known everywhere for their extensive training and the quickness of their missions. They always seemed to get their missions done in a day or two, sometimes they even get B-Class missions done in the same day they were assigned. Of course, everyone knew of the Sand Siblings and the members of the Akatsuki. It was hard to miss them because of their matching apparel.

"That's the last of 'em," He said to his partner, who's eyes were tired and her ponytail couldn't hold her fly-away's.

"Alright, we'll give you rules that I'm sure you've already heard from somewhere. One, you can not partner or team with any other participants. Two, you can not use any paper bombs, knives, or weapons on any of the other participants, but you can use smoke bombs or trigger any of the traps in the maze to slow down the others. Three, while inside the maze, you cannot converse with your sensei about the other competitions. There are no short-cuts, so don't be lazy."

(y/n) would've shot Shikamaru a look, but he decided to drop out of the festival because he thought it was going to be a drag. He doesn't seem like the kind of guy to enjoy being the center of eight different cameras, each highlighting a different angle.

"Any questions?" It was silent, so if someone did have a question, they were too nervous to ask aloud-- they didn't want to appear clueless in front of their competition after all. "Great... You guys are now excused to go out into the stadium after you put on these." Behind her was a cart with individually-packaged GoPros and microphones they can clip onto their shirts. "This is for the broadcasting, please be aware that there might be children in the stands, so try and keep your swearing to a minimum please." (y/n) could already tell that both Kisame and Deidara were going to swear excessively. The pair of Jonin's poofed away, probably to join up with the others.
