Chapter 11

THIRD PERSON POV

The next day, the entire Aoba Johsai volleyball team stood in surprise when Oikawa and Hinata entered the gym in their practice clothes.

"Let's practice." Said Oikawa, and they practiced. The team was surprised when Oikawa and Hinata still seemed to be the best players, they all thought that the two would be rusty after taking a month off. When practice was over, a few of the team members were going out to eat. Tsukki extended the invitation to Hinata and Oikawa. Hinata looked at Oikawa.

"Do you want to?" Oikawa shrugged,

"I guess so." Tsukki was very happy that Hinata and Oikawa were coming with them, however when the group approached the restaurant, Hinata and Oikawa paused. The team looked back at them in confusion. This was the restaurant that Oikawa, Hinata and Iwaizumi went to the day after they all confessed to each other. After a few moments, Hinata continued moving forwards, and Oikawa followed. There were tears in both of their eyes, but nobody mentioned it.

The team sat down at a table. Hinata glanced over to the booth they sat in. There was a couple there, they looked so happy. Hinata frowned, remembering how happy he was when he was in that booth. Oikawa squeezed his hand underneath the table. The two boys didn;t order any food, they just sat while the rest of the team ate.

"Aren't you guys going to eat something?" Asked Tsukki. Hinata shook his head,

"We aren't hungry." Tsukki was worried that his friends weren;t eating enough, but he let it slide, not wanting to cause a scene. When everyone finished their food, Hinata and Oikawa said goodbye and walked home.

"I should probably stop by and say hello to Akari, she's probably worried."

"Okay, we can stay there tonight if you want."

"That would be nice."

"I'll text Victor." Oikawa and HInata then changed course, heading to Oikawa's house instead of Hinata's. When they arrived, they entered the house. Akari was sitting on the sofa, and when she heard the door open she turned her head and gasped.

"Tooru!" She ran over to him and hugged him. Oikawa didn't hug back, he didn't even smile. He just stood there as his sister squeezed him. When she let go, Oikawa said,

"We're staying here tonight."

"Do you guys want some food?" They both shook their heads, and then they went up to Oikawa's room.

Oikawa and Hinata were still far from normal, but they were slowly opening up again. Hinata began speaking, to Yurio, and to the team. Sure, that was it, but that was enough for now. Oikawa and Akari had spent more time together, and Hinata and Oikawa didn't have to be next to each other every single moment anymore.

At practice, Oikawa was actually acting like a captain. He was leading drills and giving pointers, Hinata was helping Tsukki learn how to jump higher, and he was helping Yamaguchi learn multiple serves.

It was hard without their Ace. Hinata knew that it was probably going to be him taking Iwaizumi's spot, but he didn't want to, not yet. To him Iwaizumi would always be the ace, there was nothing that would change that.

Yurio on the other hand was training harder than ever. The Grand Prix was coming up, and he was going for a second gold. He and Hinata had also been working hard on their partners program. Yuri and Victor were coaching them along with working on their own programs. Hinata had decided only to skate with Yurio, so he wasn't doing his own program.
