Chapter Three -

The alarm rang at 6am the next morning. Joor hit snooze as I got up to use the shower. I picked out a simple yellow summer dress, picked up my towel and headed to the bathroom. I stared at myself in the mirror and tied my hair back, maybe the bags under my eyes will wash off in the shower? I turned on the hot steamy water and started quietly singing to myself as the water ran all over my body. I couldn't help but think of Zayn as I showered. He loved his hot showers. I remember him getting up at 5:30 for an 8am class just so that he could have an extended shower. I remember his singing while showering waking me up. I drifted out of my soapy day dream and I turned the water off, dried myself off and got dressed. I wanted to check my phone to see if Zayn had texted me yet. I walked out to see Joor still lying in bed, denying that it was time to get up.

"You're going to be late" I stated, picking up my phone from the desk at the end of my bed

"Why would they start our first day so early?" She groaned, slowly sitting up and rubbing her tired eyes.

"Think of it as the day you find out your summer job" I smiled. She couldn't help but grin

"What did you sign up for?" She asked, sitting on the edge of her bed

"My top 3 choices were costumes, theatre, and retail" I smiled "Yours?"

"Rides, costumes, and gate" I nodded. None of the job choices were that descriptive. On the online application we got to choose from a drop down menu to list our top three choices. Effie slowly slugged her way to the bathroom to get ready. I faced my phone, still nothing from Zayn. I sighed. I plugged in my hair straightener and started looking through the welcoming package that had a folder dedicated to today's activities.

The schedule then broke off into what was happening for each job, such as training that day, costumes, and so on. I started straightening my hair thinking of today. I hope I get a good job. I would hate to be stuck in the little kid area of story book land and spend my day dressed up as a princess. I wanted to work backstage of the theatre, making the costumes, do fittings, that sort of stuff. After graduation, when I have my degree in fashion design, I want to design costumes. I love how your clothes describe who you are. That's the main reason I started making my own clothes. Joor emerged from the bathroom

"You look really cute in that colour" She smiled at me, and she flopped down in her jeans and tank top. "You look cute over all." She eyed my up and down "Did you buy that dress in Canada?"

"No, I made it actually" I replied, standing up to unplug my straightener. She gasped

"No way! You should go into fashion" I giggled

"I already am. I just finished my first year in college" She looked at me shocked
