Chapter Fourteen -

I sat on the Peter Pan parade float and waited for help to climb down. "Here I've got you" A guy dressed as peter pan held out his hands as I fell ungracefully in his arms. My crutches were passed to me by the float driver

"Thank you so much" I grinned at the two before making my way off the float. The afternoon parade was finished. I had until seven for the next parade. I checked the cock, it was two thirty now. I started making my way out of the parade parking and towards the costume building. I was half way there when a voice caught my attention

"Cait?" I turned around to see my sister Emma standing a few feet away from me

"Emma? What are you doing here?" I asked her as she embraced me in a tight hug

"Don't worry over me, what the hell happened to your foot?" She pointed at my cast

"I cut it on glass" I admitted, shrugging it off. I hopped over to a bench and we both sat down "Now what are you doing here?" I asked again, hoping to get an answer

"I'm just so stressed out about the wedding, I needed space" She sighed, reclining back onto the bench

"Are you getting cold feet?" I asked nervously. Emma shot straight up

"No no, I love Micah, I'm happy that I'm marrying him" She stated firmly "there's just so many things that could go wrong on my wedding day that it's scaring me" She looked at me and I just nodded. I then smiled, and looked into my little tote bag I had around my wrist as part of my parade Tinkerbell costume. I sat it on my lap and opened it. Emma looked confused as I threw sparkles onto her

"There, you've been covered in fairy dust, only good things can happen now" I winked, causing Emma to laugh out loud "Ha! I've got you smiling again" I grinned proudly as I pulled the strings, closing the bag, Emma simply shook her head at me

"I thought I was crazy enough sitting on a bench next to Tinkerbell, but the fairy dust just proves I'm not completely mental" Emma rolled her eyes. I gave my sister another big hug.

"So does Micah know you're here?" I asked as we pulled away. Emma shook her head.

"No" She swallowed hard. "But I want to wait a little bit before I call him" I nodded. "Can we explore the park, Tinkerbell?" She asked, looking up to me like a shy little child.

"Of course! Just let me change out of this" I pointed to my short green dress "And we'll go have fun" I smiled at her, hugging her once more.

Emma and I sat in the main park food court, debating what to order when Emma's phone started ringing loudly. She pulled it out of her bag. "It's Micah. I'm going to take this" She pointed to her cell phone as she stood up and walked away for privacy. As soon as she left her spot was filled with a different face

"Hey Caitey baby" Louis chimed, grinning at me like a mad man

"Hey Lou" I grinned back

"I wasn't expecting to see you this early" He looked at his watch and then back at me. I shrugged

"Well, my plans changed when my sister" I pointed at Emma was sitting on a bench across the food court, still on her phone,  "Decided to come visit me and run away from last minute wedding stress" Louis nodded, looking at my sister and then back at me.

"Is she doing ok?" he asked, his concern for her was sweet,

"Yeah she's probably going home tomorrow evening" I admitted "I think she just needed a change of scene" I whispered as she walked back to the table. Her eyes were glued on Louis
