Chapter Four -
I stepped out of the costume department dressing room in a very short green dress that was too big. Costumes ended up involving me getting dressed up in a costume and walking around storybook land, posing for pictures with families. I nearly died when I caught myself in the mirror. A large lady, Melanie, Cheshire, clapped her hands in approval
"Oh you're perfect for Tinkerbell!" She squealed, pulling my on to one of the fitting pedestals. "We haven't had a Tinkerbell in ages" She excitedly pinned the costume to fit my body
"Oh... really?" I asked, still unsure of the shortness of the dress.
"Cassandra, can you get Tinkerbell's shoes?" she asked her assistant, who scurried off and passed me a pair of green flats with large silvery white pom-poms on. "Nice flats so you'll be able to last all day" She patted my back. "Your wings just hook on here" She hooked on a pair of wings on the back of my dress. I looked at myself and couldn't help but laugh
"I feel like I just fell out of a Disney movie" I turned to see the back of the dress
"You look like a dream come true" Melanie excitable stated, clasping her hands together once again. "Now you carefully slip that off. You will come to work early to get this dress on, and when your shift is over you come here and take it off. The costume never leaves the park ok?" I nodded, taking in Melanie's instructions.
"Deal" I smile politely
"Ok, now off to the room next door, you'll learn how to do your signature and how to pose for the families" I stepped off the pedestal and let out a quiet groan when I was in the dressing room. I quickly stripped myself of my costume and walked next door, past two guys who were dressed as Prince Charming. Now that would be a title to live up to. I walked in to see a few familiar faces from the previous fittings I watched. Jared, London, came over and greeted me with a warm smile.
"Hello..." He looked for my name tag "Cait" He looked at his clip board "Right Tinkerbell, your signature is on page five. Take a seat at any of the tables and practise it. We'll call you when it's ready to start posing" I quietly sat down at a desk and looked at the stapled package of paper in front of me. I scanned through the other characters. Cinderella, Snow White, the Beast, Wizard, and I turned to page five to find Tinkerbell. The signature looked fairly simple. Rather loopy with a little star at the end. I started by tracing it a few times from the package before trying it on my own. It looked cute. I continued writing it for a while before I got bored. I started writing my name in the same font... Then Joor's.... Then Zayn's with little hearts around it rather than stars.
"Tinkerbell?" A voice called out. I looked up and got signalled over to a corner where a photographer and a blue shirt helper were waiting for me. I picked up my practise papers and joined them.
"At your service" I smiled. The two of them eyed me up and down.
"Ok, have you ever modelled before?" The photographer asked
"I have a few times. I'm a fashion design student" I explained "I've done a few charity runways and I've modelled some final collections for photographs but nothing too serious". He nodded taking the information in.
