24. Barood hoga toh aag toh lagegi hi

(Shehnaaz's POV)

The ground beneath me slipped away. I couldn't believe that Sidharth took such a big step because of this small reason. His overthinking was next level. I wanted to say something but words didn't come out of my mouth. And here, Tanishq was still very angry.

"Ab bata na Shehnaaz kya lagta hai tujhe? Bol na kuch. Chup kyu hai?" Harpreet tried to calm him, but it didn't seem like it was going to work. I was still not able to figure out why he didn't talk to me about it?

"Tanishq, shant reh." She said.

"Aise kaise shant rahu. Mujhe pata hai jo usne kiya wo galat tha, par isko sochna chahiye tha ki jo ladka isse itna pyaar karta hai, wo aisa kyu karega." He shoved her away.

"Kitna chillayega tu, chup ho jaa. Yahan galti dono ki hai. Tu sirf isko nahi bol sakta." She defended me.

"Tujhe kya lagta hai maine use kuch nahi bola. Kitna daanta hai maine use." He said.

"Shehnaaz kuch bol na yaar." Harpreet said to me.

I had nothing to say. I sat on the floor with a thud. 7 years. I spent 7 years without him, unaware of the reason of our breakup. Why did he have to do this? To me? To him? Or to our beautiful relationship?

 A thought struck my mind and I made up my mind to do it. "Address de uska. I am going to Paris." I said.

"Are you out of your mind? Kya kar legi tu wahan jaake? Tujhe abhi bhi bharosa nahi hua hoga na." Tanishq said.

"Tanishq shut up. Kya bakwas kar raha hai tu." Harpreet said.

"I don't know anything. Mujhe bas usse milne jaana hai. Wahan jaake jo hoga dekha jayega." It took a long time to convince Tanishq. But eventually, he agreed.

"Fine, but I am going with you and that's final." I sighed because I knew there was no use of arguing now. He is not in any mood to listen anything.

"I'll also go." Harpreet joined in.

We left on the same day and took the first flight to Paris. I was so restless during the whole journey. I never ever expected this from Sidharth. Just because he heard some people talking shit, he actually believed it? Use mujhpar itna hi trust tha kya?

'Jiske dur jaane ke khayal se darr jaaya karte the,
Use hamare bharose ki kabiliyat par shak tha.
Nahi bata kar kya haasil kar liya tumne,
Kya tumhara mujhpar bas itna hi hak tha.'

The moment flight landed, I felt a sensation in my body. I felt like my lost piece of heart was there. And it was true. I just couldn't wait to tell him how much I missed him. I wanted to hug him so tight that it made him forget everything that happened, and come back. But I was also a little tensed about he was gonna react seeing me here. What if he doesn't accept me again? Just shut up. No negative thoughts. Everything is going to be fine.

Tanishq already arranged everything as he had come here a few times to meet Sidharth. It was evening time. We left for his office as at it was his leaving time from there. Tanishq and Harpreet were at a distance and I went near the office. It was big building. The lights shined brightly, I felt like I was under the spotlight. I stood a little far so that he couldn't see me straight. After a few minutes, he came out and I looked at his face after so long. He was wearing a blue shirt and black jeans. He looked damn handsome and it proved he was the same Sidharth.

Sidharth came out with his friend Nishant. They were discussing something about work when She ran to him and hugged from back. Nishant was shocked because Sidharth never allowed any girl to come near him. But to his surprise, Sidharth didn't move away. 

He closed his eyes and stayed in the moment. Without even turning back, he recognized her touch. For that moment, he forgot all that happened these years. He turned back and reciprocated the hug. Tanishq and Harpreet were seeing the whole moment. They smiled looking at each other. Finally their friends got what they deserved.

"Baby dekh na Shehnaaz ne usko kaise hug kiya. Tu bhi karna." He said.

"Haan, woh apne pyaar ke liye sab kuch chhod ke chala gaya. Aur tujhse toh apna phone nahi chhoda jaata. Huh." Harpreet said, making him slap his head. Saala saare mood ka kachra kar diya, Tanishq thought.

Nishant was still standing wide-eyed. 'Nahi ye toh ho hi nahi sakta. Sid ne toh kabhi kisi ko hug nahi kiya.' he thought. He tapped on Sid's shoulder only to receive a death glare which was enough for him to move away.

After some time, Sidharth came to reality. His mind started working again. Was it really Shehnaaz who was hugging him?

"Shehnaaz?"

"Haan Sidharth."

"Tu sach me yahan hai baby?"

Shehnaaz started hitting him like she used to do back then. He felt so relieved after years. He missed all this like hell. He was getting what he craved for. They hugged each other again. All the while, Nishant was still standing shocked. Many thoughts were in his mind but he did not dare to speak. They broke the hug finally when more people started coming out. Sidharth's hand was still around her shoulder when he turned to Nishant.

"Haan ab bol kya hua?" He asked.

"Woh tu kabhi kisi ko hug nahi karne deta tha isliye ajeeb lag raha tha." He asked hesitantly.

"Abe ye Shehnaaz hai, tujhe bataya tha na uss ladki ke baare me jisne mujhe badla tha."

"Oh toh ye hai wo. Hello Shehnaaz." He forwarded his hand towards her. Shehnaaz giggled and shook hands with him. "It's so nice to meet you finally. Aapki bahut baat karta hai ye."

"Baaki baatein baad me pehle haath chhod." Sidharth said and Nishant immediately left her hand. Shehnaaz looked at Sidharth and he royally ignored her.

"You know, Shehnaaz. This is why we call him the Angry young man of the company. Phat-ti hai sabki isse." Nishant said.

"Ab barood hoga toh aag toh lagegi hi." Sidharth replied. (Yes, I am obsessed with Agastya Rao)

 To give the couple some privacy, Nishant left from there and Tanishq and Harpreet came. That's when reality hit Sidharth. He immediately separated from her and looked shocked.

"Tum sab log yahan kya kar rahe ho? Aur maine tujhe mana kiya tha na Tanishq, kyu laaya hai inko yahan?" Sidharth yelled. 

"Yaar mujhpe mat chilla, ye Shehnaaz ne hi zid ki thi." He gazed Shehnaaz who was giving a puppy look. Oh how much he missed this pretty face. He melted seeing her face but still kept the stern face.

"Shehnaaz jab maine bola tha ki mein tumhare sath nahi reh sakta toh yahan kyu aayi tum?"

What Shehnaaz said next, shocked Sidharth to the core.
