Emily~
"Em! Time for school! Eric's waiting for you come on" Mom shouted as I grabbed me bag leaving my room.
I went downstairs to mom and dad and kissed them both goodbye. "Bye Liam"a smiled and messed up his hair as I walked by my little brother to the front door. Liam was only in middle school so I can't drive him to school. And lately, Eric has been bringing me to school. Because he lives down the street for one. Two, he's my boyfriend. And the, I have cheer early before school and he has mandatory practice for football. I open the front door to walk out to him. He standing their in his letterman jacket with a hoodie in his hand (for me of course) leaning up against the side of his car. When I got to him he leaned down and kissed me gently on the lips. He's taller than me. I grinned up at him and took the hoodie. Eric got stiff as I hugged him for a minute. Which meant...
"Good morning, Eric!" I heard my dad from behind me on the front porch. "You excited for the big game this weekend? Coach says you and the boys are doing great this year."
"Good morning, Mr. Adams!" Eric said back rigidly. We'd been best friends since preschool before we started dating freshman year. And he was still afraid of my dad. "I hope we're doing as well as Coach says. If not those Serpents are gonna kick our ass this weekend, sir." The way he joked I could tell he was better now.
"Good luck at practice today, son. Don't injure that arm. You're gonna need it. Now get going do neither of you are late," my dad chuckled.
"Yes, sir! Tell Dr. A I said hello. I'll see you tonight at dinner, sir." Eric bid his farwell.
As the Front door shut, Eric opened the car door for me. He kissed my forehead and joked, "My lady."
I laughed and got in. "Why thank you my prince." We giggled and he shut my door walking around to get in. He started to pull away from the front of my house, when my little brother came out screaming our names.
"What's up, Liam?" Eric rolled down my window as he made his way to it.
"Mom wants to know if you guys still are picking me up from school today when practice is over? She just got called in for an extra surgery today."Liam looked hopeful he wouldn't have to ride with Dad.
"Of course, bud. I love having my two favorite people with me." Eric smiler at him. "I'll even throw the football with you tonight before dinner when we get back."
ThiS made Liam beam. "Yes! Thanks Eric. See you after school. Love you sis." He leaned in to kiss me on the cheek and ran back inside.
"You're little brother"Eric laughed.
"I know. He's terrible. But your sisters great"I joked. "How's that boyfriend you don't like?" I messed with him. Kenzie was a year younger than us. He was more protective over Kenzie than he was of me. Not only is she his little sister. But she's one of my best friends. She's on the cheer squad too. But she had debate this morning. So she didn't ride to school with us like normal.
"That boyfriend"he rolled his eyes. "I can't believe mom let him in the house this weekend. And she didn't even care if she left the door open or not!"he threw his arms up. He rlly didn't like Danny now that he was dating Kenzie. Which made things hard for them because they were friends and played football together.
"Babe. Come on! Kenz is 16 years old. She's allowed to have a boyfriend. She'll be 17 soon. It's time to let her grow up" I have him that look. H didn't look at me though cuz he knew I was right.
"Yes yea"he rolled his eyes. He looked at me and then smiled putting his hand over on my thigh. "Why are you so cute, Em? Like god! You don't give anyone else a chance" he joked.
I smiled. "Aww. Babeee!! Stop!" I blushed. He mocked me and complimented me the next 5 minutes until we arrived at school. It was only about a 10 minute drive. He got out of the car and opens my door taking my bag and my hand. He walked me inside. And we walked to the locker rooms together.
We passed my cheer coach as we made our way inside. "Adams! Bleachers! 5 minutes!"
I nodded and continued walking with Eric. We made our way down the hall to the gym. Some of his friends came over to us. And they did their weird "bro hug thing" that I'll never understand. Danny was with them.
"Hey, Emily. Uh. I think Kenzie was looking for you. Something about debate canceled." Danny shrugged. "She spoke so fast and excitedly saying she something about cheering this morning. I could barely understand her."
I laughed at him. "Thanks, Danny. I'll find her." Eric pulled us away from his friends. He put his hand in my back pocket and pulled me over up against the wall outside of the the girls locker room. "Babe. Stop. I have to go change. Coach'll have my ass if I'm late"I giggled. He had my back up against the wall kissing me. "Babe come in. In captain. I gotta be in there."
"Alright. Alright." He gave in after a few more kisses and not serious complaining on my end. I kissed him one more time. Then moved from between him and the wall. He held the door to my locker room open for me.
I kissed him one more time but made it last. "I love you babe. See you in homeroom." I smiled at him looking at how cute he looked and the way his eyes lit up when I said those three little words. I went In the locker room. And immediately all the girls ambushed me. The first girl I noticed was trynna pull me aside into the captains lockers, which was technically for me but I always stayed with the girls. It was Kenzie. "What is it kenz?"
She squealed. "Danny!"
I was confused. "Wait what? So I need to go get Eric?"
"What? No! This is a good thing," she beamed.
"Rlly? What is it?"I was still a bit confused but excited.
"So you know how we've been together for about two weeks now?" She was still kinda squealing and pitchy.
"Yeah. And you've been together since before school. Started. But you only made it official two weeks ago." I laughed.
"He finally kissed me! Like fr fr. Not just in some stupid game. He kissed me when he picked me up this morning in his car!! Then he walked me down the hall all '16 Candles' and 'Peter and Lara Jean style' and kissed me again before going to his locker room." She squealed.
"Omg! Kenz! That's great! Took a month but yay" I joked then took a second to think about what she said. "Wait.. LJ and Peter? 16 Candles?" I got all excited too.
I said "hand in your back pocket" in-sync with her saying "hand in my back pocket."
We giggled. And then changed for practice. As we walked out to the field, most of the girls stopped talking momentarily to me and to all the squad about the football team who was already on the field practicing. All the girls wanted to date the football team. Only two other girls were dating football players.
My two co-captains. They were also my best friends. Mandy and Lana. Mandy was dating the wide receiver. And Lana the running back. Since school started, if we were free from practice and could get away from our boyfriends, Kenzie, Mandy, Lana and I would stay up watching and adoring corny romance movies all night. Well. Correction. They would. I acted like I cared. I hate that kinda movie. My favorite are horror movies. But the only person who actually knows that is Eric. In middle school, he would come over on the weekends and we'd watch horror movies non stop. And. He has never told anyone about my horror movie addiction. At least that what he calls it.
Mandy and Lana were both on either side of my. And Kenzie was behind me with one of the younger girls. She was only a freshman and I hadn't quite learned her name yet. But she stuck close to the four of us.
