"Awww. That's so cute. They're gonna be such good friends." Mandy laughs.
"As long as no one replaces me as number one of course," Kenzie giggled out clearly still half asleep.
"How long have the been like this?" Lana yawned.
"Who knows? I woke up around 4ish. And the guys were gone but they were snuggled up together like this."Kenzie states.
"Well what time is it now?"Lana asks looking at the other two when her phones not in her pocket.
"It is-," Mandy looks at her watch. "6:49. Shit. We have to get ready for school. We'll be late to home room."
"Em! Emily! Wake up! Avery! Guys were. Gonna be late for home room you guys!"kenzie whisper screams shaking Emily and Avery awake.
"What? Late? Late for what?" Emily says groggily her eyes barely open. Then her eyes shoot open. "No! Late for school!" She bolts up and runs across the hall to her room.
"Late for school?" Avery says sleepily. "What time is it?" She reaches for her phone laying beside her. "Shit," she starts getting up.
Emily comes back across the hall in her robe sticking her head in the door. "Avery, the girls know the drill but there's two bedrooms on opposites sides of my door and each with ensuites if you want to use them!" She finishes as she walking away.
"Meet you downstairs in 10, Em!" Kenzie yells after her.
The girls all finish and are waiting downstairs for each other. Kenzie, Lana, and Mandy are sitting at the island in the kitchen where the back stairs(the stairs that lead to Emily's floor)are.
"Good morning, girls. You're here late? Where's Emily?"Amelia, Emily's mom, looks around. "And the twins? Where are they at? Didn't I see them last night?"Amelia questions noticing the missing twins as well.
"Morning, Dr. A,"Kenzie leans over to kiss her cheek.
"Morning," Lana and Mandy both smiled before Lana answered her question.
"Emily is still upstairs. We're waiting on her right now actually. The twins were gone when we woke up this morning. And they left a note but all it said was they were leaving. Nothing else, Dr. A," Lana shrugged.
"Hmm. Strange. And ladies how many times do I have to tell you to just call me Amelia," she smiles as she pours her coffee.
Amelia converses with the girls for a few more minutes trying to wait on Emily.~ ~ ~ ~ ~
MEANWHILE, upstairs Avery was hiding in Emily's room waiting for her to finish getting dressed. They were talking and actually getting along and had a lot in common, much to Emily's surprise.
"Really? Those are my favorite books too!"Emily smiles and laughs with Avery as she walks back out of closet and grabbing her backpack out of the doorway to her study.
"A year or two ago if someone put those books in front of me I'd tell them to go to hell," Avery joked. "But now-," she pulled Corrupted Chaos out of her bag. "My Arminelli boys don't go anywhere without me." She giggled.
Emily was staring. 'She is just so incredibly beautiful. Her eyes. Her smile." She thought to herself.
"I think Cade is my favorite." Avery laughed. "Bastian is such a hot and brooding boss ya know? But Cade. He's smart. Dangerous. And beautiful. And only wants his one perfect woman. I mean come on"she joked.
"Cade is my favorite too. For the same reasons lol. Well maybe one other reason" Emily smirked and her cheeks heated up and she hoped she got the point across.
The girls started walking out to the staircase as Avery stuck her book back in her bag and pulled it over her shoulder.
"Guys aren't my think but I would definitely let Cade have his way with me." Avery joked.
The girls joked. And talked about the Tarnished Empire boys."Well I guess I won't see Emily this morning"Amelia says calmly while checking her watch and grabbing her jacket and bag. "I have to get to the hospital." Amelia's voice rang up the stairs as well.
"Shit!" Emily whispered and stopped Avery on the steps in spot. "My mom won't like you because well" Emily gestured to her ripped all black attire. "She also doesn't know your here"Emily puts her finger up to her lips to make sure Avery is quiet.
"We'll I'm headed out ladies," Amelia kisses the girls cheeks. "I'll will see you all soon. Have a good day kids. I'll see you tomorrow night, Kenzie." She smiles and walked towards the garage.
Emily walked down and leaned around and looked. "Is mom gone?" She asked the girls. After the words left her lips, the garage door shut and they could hear Amelia's car leaving. She sighed and waved Avery down.
"What took you guys so long?" Lana asked.
"Hey. It's only" Emily checks her phone. "7.01. See we're fine. Let's go," I glare at Lana and stick my tongue out like a kid.
They all walk after Emily and Kenzie who are headed over to the key rack by the garage door.
"Did you guys drive yourselves last night or did the boys drop you off before going to my house?"kenzie asked Lana and Mandy.
"They dropped us off,"Lana answered first.
"Okay we'll let's go to school guys,"Emily opened the garage door and headed out. "Does everyone have their shit? And also remember nothing allowed in the Tesla. Daddy won't let us use it again if we do"Emily says getting in the front seat.
The rest of the girls get in and Emily drives them all to school. On the ride their, Avery sits, well tries to sit quietly and read. But Lana and Mandy don't let her.
"So are you really trying to join the team now? The season already started, Landon. We only have 2 games left then whatever championship games we end up with for football season. And only our senior games for basketball," Lana rattled off.
"There's no way Coach is gonna let you join this late in the season"Mandy chimes in.
"If I do not make it, I do not make it. I've been doing cheer for 12 years. I do not have to do it now to do it next year. It's not treated as the sport it should be so it's all walk- on tryouts next year at Vanderbilt Uni so, it doesn't really make a difference now does it?" Avery responds. She doesn't even look up from her book and her British accent really comes through in her remarks.
"You're going to Vanderbilt too?" The other 4 girls all say it almost screaming it at once turning around to look at her, as Emily pulls into her usual spot at school.
"Yes. Is there something wrong with me going to Uni there? My mum went there as well for a few years. She's from around there actually. She went there for 3 years, graduated early and then moved out to London where she meant my father." She tales while still not bothering to look up.
"We're all going to Vanderbilt too. Our boyfriends as well."Emily mumbles the last part and looks away. The time on the dash screen says 7:17.
"Guys, come on. Let's get to home room," kenzie starts to get out.
Kenzie and Emily grab their bags from the back of the car. As Lana and Mandy get out and grab their bags, Avery comes behind them not bothering to put away her book.
"I think I like you,"Kenzie smiles and jokes hooking her arm through Avery's. "Nice books by the way. I love that series"she whispers in Avery's ear.
