Chapter 5: Group Date Night

Emily~

"Emily, dear. Are you okay? You haven't seemed like yourself these past few days?" I look up at April, Kenzie's mom, standing in front of me in Kenzie's room.

"Oh. Umm yea, April. Im fine. The four of us have just been a little shaken up lately. There's this new girl who's trying to join the team last minute is all," I smile softly at her.

"I believe Kenzie told me about that. Avery? I believe is what Kenzie said her name was. Am I correct?"she asks with me nodding in response. "She told me about her. And if you kids ever want to hangout out with her. Bring her here on a day I have Jacob out," she jokes. "I know your mom sweetie,"she laughs as I got ready to speak.

"Thanks, April. Well I better go grab Kenzie so we can get going. Lana and Mandy and the guys are meeting us out for dinner."I smile at her standing up and smoothing out my dress.

"Is it Saturday already?" She smiles reaching her hands out and holds my hands. "You look so beautiful, sweetheart. So,"she says which makes me know exactly what she was about to go into. "How are you and Eric doing? He umm. How do I say this delicately dear," she sighs and turns around sticking her head in the hall looking for her husband. "Eric gave me the wrong shopping list this morning. One that clearly wasn't meant for me. It was a list for you two. I won't embarrass you by listing off what he had written on it. But I just need to ask"I cut her off.

"April. I know what you're going to ask. Yes we are being safe. It's only been a few times we've gone all the way. But it's been 4 year- I mean 3 years of us dating and being together. Before middle school too. We are being careful," as I finish her nerves calm quickly.

She squeezed my hands again. "As long as your happy and safe,"she kissed my cheek. "Enjoy dinner sweetie. I haven't seen Eric this morning so I assume he's meeting you there?"she asks as she starts to walk away.

"Yes he is. Eric is at Sam's right now," I smile as I pull my stuff together.

"Okay. Well I know he won't be home until late tonight since your father will be here with Jacob"she laughs lightly. "Enjoy your game night tonight with everyone, Emily. I will see you tomorrow morning at brunch"she smiled and walked out.

I sighed and then shut the door quickly before running into Kenzie's bathroom to her. "Kenzie. Come on. Let's go already. It's already 5 o'clock. We have to be at dinner at 5:30. Come on" I glare at her as she finishes her hair.

"Ugh fine. I just want to look perfect for Danny, dammit"she put her brush down and walked towards me and to her closet. "Come on let's just go"

I roll my eyes at her trying not to laugh as my phone goes off. "Hey, Kenz. The girls wanna know if we can pick them up they're at Lana's and her dad won't let her take any of the cars again,"

We both laugh and go pick up the girls and head to the restaurant. When we get there and walk in, the guys are already there. As the host leads us to our table the all look up like they've never seen us look so beautiful. If they think this is something, wait until they see as at the ball next weekend. I think to myself. They all stand from there seats as we all go take our seats next to our boyfriends.

"Hi, baby girl," I hear coming from beside me as Sam kisses her gently and she giggles back.

Then a, "hateful bastard" from Lana. Followed by "ungrateful bitch" before they start kissing each other and smiling at each other.

Danny just kisses Kenzie's cheek as she sits down beside him and he pushes her chair in for her.

I look at Eric while he does the same from me. "Hi, baby," we pecks each other's lips quickly smiling at each other.

"You look beautiful, Em" he smiles kissing my cheek again.

"Thank you, babe," I smiled up at him as we sat down.

a couple seconds after we sit down, the waiter comes over and addresses Kenzie and Eric (since they own the restaurant). "Good Evening, Mr. and Ms. Deluca. Will it be your usual tonight, sir?" he turns to address Eric and Eric nods as the waiter runs off to find us a bottle of wine.

We talk through dinner about a lot of things; school, Avery( of course her, I think to myself). And the ball next weekend. we get invited to everything, me and the DeLuca families. And the girls get to come with us so, so do Sam and Gabe.

The ball took up most of our time talking tonight.

"so ladies," Eric addresses the four of us. "Do you have your gowns yet or do you still have some shopping to do?"

"We have our outfits. But you know the girls can always shop," I joked and the girls laughed and agreed.

We finished up dinner talking s but more before we left to head back to the house. We drove;
