Silence.

A gloomy atmosphere surrounded the Hiromata household.

"My son... has a girlfriend?"

"Don't say it like it's some sort of miracle."

"But it is! My ugly-ass son is no longer single!"

"This ugly-ass face came from your genes, you know?"

Not a full ten minutes have passed and the two are arguing again.

'W-What a lively family. Not that I'm complaining though. Maybe this just shows how close they are.'

Eru simply sat beside Seki as the mother glared at her silently.

"I do not approve of this relationship!"

"Mom, I don't think you have a say on whom I interact with."

"I can't believe it, he's already going through a rebelling phase. My child grows up so fast!"

As the mother wept and cried on a corner, the sound of the door opening echoed throughout the room.

"I'm home!"

A small boy in a school uniform stood at the doorway.

"Oh, welcome back. Eru-san, this is my younger brother, Seiji."

"N-Nice to meet you."

Seiji's eyes lit up the moment he set his sight on Eru.

"Can we keep her, nii?"

[A.N. - Nii is basically the shortened version of onii/onii-chan which is used to address your older brother.]

He hugged Eru's leg tightly as if it was his own.

"Oi, Seiji. Stop that, can't you see you're bothering h—"

Seki was about to scold his little brother until he saw a faint smirk form on Eru's face.

"Eru-san, are you perhaps... a shotacon?"

"I-I'm not! I was just surprised!"

"It's okay, you don't have to reason yourself out of this. I can accept you for who you really are."

"I told you, that's not it!"

Seki simply gazed at Eru with a face of a skeptic.

"Back to topic! So, how long have you been dating? When did you meet each other?"

"About three days. I met her last Friday."

The mom seem to have taken both physical and mental damage when she heard that.

"I can't believe it! My son is just picking up random girls! I don't remember raising such a pathetic son!"

Seki's mom ran out of the house bawling and crying as she cussed her son.

"Oi, Seki, you bastard! How dare you make your mother cry like that?!"

"Uhm, weren't you just trying to hit on Eru-san ten minutes ago?"

"Tch. Touché."

The dad ran off to chase his wife.

"I-I think I'm being a nuisance by being here. Should I leave?"

"Don't worry, that's a common thing in this household. They'll return later like nothing happened."

"I-I see."

Eru's concern was proven to be futile. 'What a weird family', she thought.

"Oi, Seiji. Get off Eru-san's leg and go change upstairs."

"No!"

"You cheeky brat."

He ever so tightly clung unto Eru's leg, clearly not planning to let go.

"Uhm. What year is Seiji-kun in?"

"This kid? He just got into 5th grade. Why'd you ask?"

"Well I noticed that he came home by himself. Isn't he a bit too young to do that?"

"I used to pick him up every day from school but he recently insisted that he can go home alone. I think he's trying to impress his crush or something."

"I-I'm not!"

"Hehe. Was it that girl you were with back then?"

"N-No!"

Seki kept on teasing his younger brother. It wasn't out of hate of any sort but instead an innocent sibling quarrel. Watching such a scene, Eru's lips couldn't help but make a slight curve.

"E-Eru-san... Why are you making such a smirk while looking at my little brother? I was just joking earlier but are you really a shota—"

"I told you I'm not!"

Eru waved her hands left and right, her face beet red.

"It's just that I've always wanted to have a younger brother. Growing up as an only child, I've wanted to have a sibling to play wi—"

"You have one now."

Eru's words were cut off by Seki's sudden words.

"Wh-What do you mean?"

"You can come again tomorrow and play with Seiji. He seems to also have taken a liking to you so why not?"

"B-But what about your parents? Aren't they against it?"

"It may not seem like it but they aren't bad people. Sure, they're weird but they won't shun you out so quickly. And even if they did, I won't let them."

A genuine smile could be seen on Seki's face as he said such words.

'Should I? I would feel bad if I come again tomorrow though... And I seem to be a nuisance to their family. But Seki-kun himself said that it'll be fine. Is it safe to agree? Is it really ok, I wonder?"

A couple seconds of silence passed by until Eru looked up to Seki.

"... I'll take you up on that offer then."
