Chapter XV

Just like that, Selena was on their side. Her job was to sneak into Wayne Enterprises with (Y/n) and steal a blueprint. It sounded easier than it was. Once Jerome had explained everything, they got ready. (Y/n) was finishing something in her lab before leaving. "Looks like you finally got to go do something, huh?" Somebody said from behind her. She turned around with a smile. "Yep! I'm so excited Johnny! I have waited too long. Also while I'm gone, makes sure Ed does everything right. If he ever returns. If not you need to do it." She explained. "I know I know." He laughed. (Y/n) smiled at him. God how she loved his laugh. Well, everything about him. His smile, his laugh, his eyes, the way he jokingly flirted. And he even when he was being serious. It all made her fall for him more. Yet, she didn't want to admit it. It would ruin their relationship. (Y/n) snapped out of her thoughts when she heard her name. "(Y/n) you ok?" Jonathan asked, his hand still on her shoulder. "O-oh. Yeah! I'm fine. Just lost in my thoughts." Her face had a pink tint on it. "Oh. Ok. Well you need to leave soon. Ornith will stay here with us. Selena is in the living room waiting." Jonathan said with a small smile. She gave him a small nods and walked out. "Cya later" she smiled at him and left. (Y/n) walked to the living and saw Selena sitting there tapping her foot. "Finally get done staring at your lover boy?" She asked sarcastically. "What? Who said that? I don't like him! He is just my friend!" She became flustered. "I was joking. Let's go. I'm hungry and want to get this over with." Selena said as she walked out the front door. (Y/n) followed her. "Cya guys! Bridget, don't get into a fight with freeze boy over there. I'll make Ornith tell me." She smiled and laughed. "Whatever. No promises" Bridget responded and glared at Victor. (Y/n) left and walked next to Selena through the streets and alleyways. "We have to go to the GCPD on the way there. I need you to distract Gordon while I get some papers." (Y/n) said. Selena nodded as they made their way to the GCPD. It wasn't very far, so they got there quick. Once they did, Selena walked through the front door as if she owned the place. (Y/n) let at a small laugh at her actions and went through the back door. She walked inside and headed Selena talking loudly to the officers about something random. (Y/n) wasted no time getting the papers and stood up. "Excuse me? Can I help you?" A woman's voice asked. (Y/n) turned around to see a woman with long dark hair and a lab coat. She looked familiar, but didn't ring a bell. "Oh umm... I was just looking for something. I'm the new intern! Yea..." (y/n) said quickly. "Nobody ever told me about a new intern... I'll go ask.." she said as she turned around and grabbed the doorknob. (Y/n) sighed in annoyance and grabbed the woman and put her hand over her mouth. "Look, I hate to do this, but I don't think that's the best idea at the moment. I'll just take these papers and leave. Don't try to tell anybody, I'll know." She let go of her and apologized before walking out the back door.

"Took ya long enough" Selena said as she looked at her folder. "What's that?" She asked. "Not sure. Jerome just asked me to get it for him." (Y/n) said. Selena nodded and continued walking to the Wayne building. Once they got there. They went into the back door using the card (Y/n) used when she worked there. She basically still did just never showed up. They ran to the filing room and searched for some files. "What file is it?" Selena asked. "Uhhh he said it is for a Xander Wilde? So under W. Over there I suppose." (Y/n) pointed at a section with a few cabinets. They bother walked over and started looking. After about five minutes, Selena spoke up. "Found it. Let's get outta here." Selena hopped up and walked out of the door with (Y/n) following her.

Before returning back, Selena and (Y/n) decided to get pizza. They sat inside and spoke to eachother. They got along more than expected. They realized they had a lot in common. "So, how'd you join the J-squad?" Selena asked. "The what?" (Y/n) held a confused look on her face. "The J-Squad. You know, Jerome, Jarvis, and Jonathan." She explained. (Y/n) nodded and explained how she joined them. "I worked at Wayne Enterprises. Jonathan found me. Blah blah blah. We were childhood friends. You know and then the rest is pretty much easy to understand." (Y/n) said as she took a bite of her pizza. "Mhm... that's cool I guess." Selena said as she shrugged.

After finishing their pizza, they got another two pizzas to bring back to the others. "You know it's gonna be gone by the time we set it down. They are like vultures." Selena said with an eye roll. "That's what happens when you live with a bunch of guys." (Y/n) chuckled as she spoke. They stayed silent for the rest of the way. They didn't really have much to say.

    Once they got there, (y/n) sat the pizza down. As if Selena predicted the future, they ate the pizza right away. 'Why did I agree to this...' (Y/n) let out a small laugh before heading to her lab.
