39. His Ex returns

A/N: so I was gonna wait till this hit 75k but it's gotten to 74k today and it's my 16th today and the next two chapters were already written so here you guys go hope you enjoy 😊.

Luke's POV

"Hello Luke."
Unbelievable.
"What are you doing here Rebecca?" I clench my fist tightly to withhold some anger and maintain some control. She barges in and looks around.
"You always were terrible a decor." She huffs. I go to step forward when I feel Lucy holding me back. I look at her confused.
"What are you doing?" I whisper.
"Stopping you from doing something stupid." She hisses. I look at her in shock and yank my arms away.

Then Jake walks in.
"What are you doing here?" I ask.
"Lucy texted me to come quick." He says a little confused. What game is she playing? 
"Oh yes I forgot about your..... brother." Rebecca says and I roll my eyes. 
"Why are you here?" I say as I cross my arms. I hear Stacy move and I instantly want to rush over and check on her. But she stays asleep.
"Oh lighten up Luke. You should be glad I'm here." Rebecca says.
"Sorry! Why the hell would I ever be glad your here." I'm having to grit my teeth and tighten my fists to stop from yelling.
"Because now that I'm here you can get rid of that deadbeat your dating and start having fun again." That's It I walk over to her and pin her against the wall.
"I'm happy with here and she's not a deadbeat. She's ten times better then you ever were. You little b****!" I let go and look at my brother and sister. They both look shocked then I realise they've never heard me swear before. I let out a long exhausted breath. "Leave Rebecca. And don't ever come back." I say as I walk her to the door.

Though as soon as I open it I immediately slam it shut.
"Alex?" Lucy says having seen who it was.
"Nope. Maybe the back door is better for you." I say to Rebecca. Lucy walks over and answers the door and my attention immediately goes away from Rebecca.
"Alex?" She says.
"Hey Lu-" I give him a death glare.
"It's Lucy to you." I say to him from behind Lu.
"Uhhh can I come in?" He asks.
"NO." I say without hesitation.
"Ignore him. Yes you can." And he walks it. So now that's my ex and Lucy's Jerk. Whatever next.

"Hello?"
"YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME! IS THERE SOME SORT OF SIGN OUT THERE SAYING PLEASE EVERYONE I HATE COME IN AND ANNOY ME!" I yell looking at Astrid stood in the door way.
"Go away Astrid." Jake huffs.
"OMG Astrid!" Rebecca says excited.
"Of course there friends." I huff to jake.
"Jake I really need to talk to you." Astrid kind of begs.
"Lu...cy. I really need to talk to you about what happened.
"Come on Luke take my side like you used to." "Go away Astrid."
"Please Jake just 5 minutes."

There's too many people here. All of their voices turn to a blur and all I can hear in my heart rate beating faster and faster. The rooms spinning and I feel like I'm about to run out of air. Then something happened.

"ENOUGH! ALL OF YOU OUT." I look up and see Stacy. She makes all the people who have just rocked up leave. Though by the time the door shuts my legs give out and I hit the floor. Stacy rushes over and I see Jake and Lucy's worried looks.

Lucy's POV

When Luke hit the ground nothing else mattered. Jake pulled me close and we watched as Stacy started to talk calmly to him and tried to slow his breathing. When she got him to sit up against the wall I saw how badly his hands were shaking. Every breath looked like it hurt to take in. I'd never seen my brother this way. Now I feel bad for calling Jake over because I thought Luke would lose his temper after what I'd learnt. I'd completely forgotten that he was still my caring brother. And yet I'd treated him like a monster.

When Stacy finally calmed him down it was such a relief. Though Luke looked exhausted. Now I was wondering how many times this had happened whilst I was living with Luke. He'd always looked exhausted when I first came but was that cause of work or because of this.
"Lucy could you go to the kitchen and bring a water bottle over please." Stacy says and I nod and immediately start to walk quickly to the kitchen. I come back and hand it to Stacy. Luke's leaning his head on the back of the wall and looks pale and weak.
"Luke baby, here have a drink." Her voice is so calm like nothings happened. Luke looked at the bottle in her hand and hesitated before gently taking it from her and having just a small drink though it seemed to help.

I feel Jake grab my arm and lead me upstairs. He didn't say a word till we were stood in my room and he was certain the door was locked.
"Lucy why am I here?" He sounds slightly annoyed but at the same time confused. Suddenly a wave of guilt crashes over me.
"Because.... I found out about Luke's past. Before I came. How he got angry and..." I hesitate and I see Jake frown.
"Don't tell me your afraid of him." Jake suddenly sounds so strict.
"I'm not afraid just.... nervous." I shrug.
"He has lovingly taken care of you since u were a baby. He opened up his home to you. He has protected you and your telling me your nervous around him because of one little story time." Now I snap i don't know why but I do.
"YES OK. YOU SAW WHAT HAPPENED JUST NOW HE GOT ANGRY. WHOS TO SAY WHAT HE WOULD OF DONE IF YOU OR STACY HADNT OF BEEN HERE." I see the mortified look on jakes face. Then my heart drops at the sound of Luke's bedroom door slowly closing.
"I hope your happy. You've believe some story over your own brother." Jake says before he leaves.

I went out for a walk for the rest of the day. The sun had set when I got back to Luke's. Though when I came back all my bags were with Jake who was waiting.
"What the hell." I mumble looking at the bags.
"Your going to live with me for a while. I've told Luke and he's agreed to let me go through with it. So grab your bags and follow me." He says neutrally.
"I'm not some toy you can just pass around." I argue.
"Neither is family Lucy. Now grab your bags. Your going to learn what family really is." With that he walks out. I've only just noticed Luke's cars gone and so is Stacy's.

I grab my bags and follow Jake to his. I go straight to my room that I only vaguely remember. And I stay there for the rest of the night regretting what I'd said.
