Cole's P.O.V:

That shouldn't have happened. I can't hide it, my anger is turning my blood into liquid fire, and it's all aimed at my best friend.

He honesty thinks I believe that crap excuse. 'Only got her number to give to you..' Yeah, right. Then why didn't he give it to me before I had to say something.

I shouldn't have said anything. I couldn't help it.

As soon as he drops me off at my house he leaves. He knows I'm mad. Does he know that it's because I can tell he's still not told me everything. We've been best friends for years, I know when he's keeping something from me.

Either way, I finally got her number and now it's just about time to let the show begin. Hope he hasn't sent her anything stupid like 'he's up to no good' or 'don't talk to him please he's only going to hurt you' because then I'd really be pissed.

This is my game. He needs to get out. Let me play.

I climb up the stairs two at a time. Then almost slam face first into my bedroom door. Huh? It's never closed. I try opening it but the freaking door is locked. What the hell?!? Who's been in my room? It's never locked. I bang on the door a couple times but nothing happens.

I hear something moving on the other side. Whoever it is they're still in there. "Hey! Get out of my room!" A few seconds later the door is nearly blown off it's hinges.

There standing in front of me is something out of a horror movie. A girl that looks like she's been frozen in time, her eyes are glazed over with something that risibles ice, and her lips are deathly blue. Her clothing doesn't look like it would've been warm, not even back then; it's tattered and has several holes, it looks like it's from another century all together. Yet, there's something familiar about her.

She's wearing a worn locket around her throat that I recognize immediately. This can't be. She's dead. She died in the winter years ago.

She watches me with unseeing eyes for what feels like an eternity. Does she know who I am?

Then I hear it, not out loud but in my head, a quiet almost melody harmony, it's her voice or what it used to be. "Surprised to see me? I am M. I've been watching you Cole. Since before you became what you are. My beloved relation. How did you get this way? Was it because of what happened with your mother? That wasn't your fault. That was my doing. See, I am what you would call fate and my game has just begun. You don't have a say so. Everything that happens to you from this point forward is my doing. I suggest that you not hurt that girl. Or there will be repercussions for your mistakes. Do I make myself clear?"

She watches me and it seems that she's waiting for an answer. All I can do it nod before hearing her voice once again, "Good lad. Now behave and always remember that I am watching."
