Roseanne's P.O.V:
Why do I get the feeling that someone is watching me? I quickly glance around the library but still see no one. So, I turn back to the words on the screen sitting in front of me.
Our first assignment is to do a history report on something not known about our town. I choose something that was hard to find information about.
A girl who froze to death back in 1773. There's no picture of her, but get this, she was my age. She was one of millions of people who froze to death during the winter. Her story isn't well known, they don't even know her name.
I'm not even sure they found her body. Either way, it's both horrible and frustrating. There's not much information.
I sigh and start writing things down once again in my notepad. Again, I feel eyes on me. Slowly this time, I glance up from my notebook and catch swift movement. It disappears before I can even see what it was.
Still, I have an eerie feeling. It's slowly getting worse. With a frustrated huff I sign out of the computer and finish up the few notes that I was able to take.
Once again to my left I can see movement. Slowly almost painfully slowly I look over to see a girl standing in shadow watching me. Her dress looks like it's from a different century and her eyes look like they used to hold color but now she's blind. Her lips are blue as death and see looks like she's been frozen for a very long time.
As I continue to watch, she presses a finger to her lips and tilts her head slightly to the side. Talk about creepy.
Then I hear a soft melodic voice in my head, 'I am M. Surprised to see me? I've been watching you since you came here. That's my job you see. I am one of the creatures most of you call fate. I froze to death in 1773 and woke up like this. That's all I remember.'
Just as quickly she turns translucent and disappears right before my eyes. All I can do is stare in a wave of mixed emotions.
What just happened?
