I watch from a distance. Moving when they do. I am M. Unseen, unknown, completely forgotten. Yet I can do the most damage. I decide what happens in life. I have the control to say who comes and who goes. Often, I find it funny how humans think they have control, when really they're all just puppets on my string. My play things.
I am fate. What I say goes. My word is law. I'm also a girl. My name is M, or at least that's all I can remember. I fell asleep one day, in the middle of winter, in 1773, and woke up like this. Don't ask me how it happened because I don't honestly remember. I don't remember dying.
In fact, I can't remember much from when I was human. It's both a blessing and a curse. Except, for some reason I do know that I'm tied to the fates of Roseanne and Cole. Don't ask me how it works. Yes, there are other forms of fate out in the world. Most of them from past eras and all of us not really knowing how we got this way.
I don't make the rules. At least not all of them. I'm just one of the mysteries known to most as fate.
