Xavier's P.O.V:
I caught Stacy's eye and shook my head. Hopefully she knows that the deal is off. I won't do this to my best friend. I literally believe that he's starting to change. He's not the person he used to be.
I know she can't see it and that pains me. I hope she doesn't think about moving ahead with whatever it was she was planning on doing. Maybe I should warn them? I don't know.
Crap. The bell just rung. Was I really that late?
Cole's P.O.V:
Whatever's going on between my ex and my best friend is odd man. It doesn't matter now though. I got who I wanted. The game's off. I'm not playing anymore. Honestly, I have no idea what she's done to me but I don't care.
She looks good. I see that's where my Motionless In White hoodie went. That's kind of cute. She's the type that's going to eventually steal all my hoodies and tee shirts. Guess I'd better keep them hidden from now on.
Unfortunately the bell has just rung and we're all going to be late. I nudge my best friend's shoulder to get his attention. "Come on man. Let's go. I didn't realize we were going to be late." He just gives me a blank look. "Dude. What's with you this morning?"
That seems to bring him out of his daze just a little bit. He still looks kind of lost though when he pulls me out of the line of traffic and away from the door. "Homie, you're probably going to hate me but I've got something to tell you." He glances over my shoulder toward the door. I go to look but he stops me. This isn't normal and I don't like secrets. So what could he be hiding?
What could get any worse than this?
