The following weeks after the dance were hectic. They rarely see each other because they were all busy finishing the necessary requirements for their finals and every spare minute they got, they spent it in studying.
"Thank God! Finally done with the finals! Now the result." Josh exclaimed as they entered the favorite cafè. It was a chilly Monday afternoon, two days after their finals. They decided to gather at the coffee shop while waiting for the result of their examination.
"Mmmm." Gabby mumbled resting her head on the table of the cafè.
"Stop worrying Gabby, you'll pass." Yaz comforted Gabby.
"Stop refreshing your feeds." Adrein scolded Michael who seemed uneasy while looking at the school's official website where the result will be posted.
"He's just excited Adrein. He knows his name will still be posted in the Dean's list." Josh uttered.
"Oh shut up! I'm worried I won't make it." Michael responded.
"That's impossible!" Yaz said giving him a comforting smile. "What's taking Jia so long? Why isn't she coming in?" Yaz wondered looking at the glass doors and windows of the shop where she can see Jia standing outside, inaudibly talking to someone through her phone.
--------------------------------------------------------------
"Ken, please, just this once. If you don't wanna do it, could you at least refer a reliable person to work for me?""Alright! Alright! Fine! I'll do it. If that will put you at ease."
"Really? Oh, thank you Ken. I owe you this one."
"You owe me a lot!" Kenji, ended the conversation.
Jia giggled looking at her phone.
--------------------------------------------------------------"She's talking to her Kenji." Gabby responded leaning back on her seat.
"I have a feeling that we'll soon meet her Kenji." Josh exclaimed while peeking at Jia who's talking on her phone.
"Why do you think so?" Asked Adrein.
"'Cause it looks like, he misses her a lot!", Josh replied still looking at Jia. "You see, he's calling her everyday, so I won't be surprise if one day he'll present himself here in our town."
"Yeah, right." Gabby agreed.
They all turned their gaze at Jia who made her entrance to the shop. "So... is the result up?" Jia excitedly asked as she sat beside Josh.
"Not yet." Josh was the one who answered.
"Just in!" Michael almost shouted.
They all checked their phones and went to the official website of SBU (St. Bernard's University). The names of the students who made it to the Dean's list were posted, as well as those who made it to top 10 for each department. For the rest, their results were directly sent to their personal profiles.
"I made it! I pass!" Gabby shrieked in happiness.
"Made it too!" Josh and Yaz said in chorus.
"Congrats!" Jia happily said to them.
"Michael and Adrein, you guys are still in the dean's list." Yaz added.
"Let's check the result for each subject." Josh exclaimed searching on his phone.
"Oh my god! Jia, you're awesome!" Josh' eyes widened. "You got a hundred percent in our exam!"
"Yeah, I guess." Jia shyly answered.
