Charlie's prospective
******************************
I wander the downstairs after the announcement. I tried the TV again. It just turned back to static. Still nothing. I check my phone, nothing. I huff. How can I be bored during a zombie apolcolypse!
"So Leo, how do you think we can survive a year. Alone. With zombies?" He lies down and rolls over.
"No comment?" I rub his stomach. "Of course he can't comment he's a dog." I laugh dryly, being alone sucks.
I wander my house some more. I get to our bathroom. I open the draws. Humming to myself.
"What to do, what to do." I dig in Callie's stuff.
"Perfect!" I pull up a red hair dye. It's permanent. Callie had grabbed the wrong container and almost became a red head.
I open the box carefully, and pull out the gloves. I mix the dye and run the color through the tips of my hair.
"This better look good. This is harder than it looks." I mutter to myself.
Why did I think this was a good idea again? Oh right I was bored.
I cover the wet hair with tinfoil to let it dry.
It takes a hour for the hair dye to dry.
"Finally! It's done." I undo the tinfoil and look at my new hair. I smirk it looks good.
Now that that's over I'm still bored. A idea come to me, that's equally stupid as it is dumb.
I shrug why not?
"Hey Leo want to go explore the street." I grab the axe of the kitchen table. "Because I do."
I walk to the window and pull open the screen. I look down at Leo.
"You should stay here." I pull myself out of my little safe-haven I have stayed in for the past few days. Into the real world.
I don't like the real world.
Or rather I don't like what the really world has become.
I wander across the street to a house. I don't know the neighbors very well. It's a married couple around my parents age. They don't like kids so I never met them. I knock on the door,
"Hello?" I hesitate before trying to open the door.
"Anyone home? HELLO." Considering I don't get screams of disapproval that I'm in their house Im assuming they aren't home. Well. Not home or dead.
I shudder, no thanks.
"Hello?" I call out again. I hear a shuffling in the living room. Respond , please don't be a zombie! Respond!
"Jim? Margaret?" I step forward a few more steps. "Hello? Please don't be a zombie. Umm hello?" I hear a un-human groan. My eyes widen.
NOPE! NOPE! NOPE!
I turn and bolt out the door.
I'm not going to deal with zombies, ill just leave it here.
I stop on the sidewalk, making sure I'm not being followed.
"This was a bad idea. A very bad ide-" I cut myself off. Turning to the sound if rustling leave. I look over to the bush. Next to me. I jump back.
"I swear to god." My feet are frozen, My brains screaming run. My feet refuse to move, leaving me rooted to the stop. The rustling in the bush gets faster. I fumble with the axe, holding it in front of me.
The bushes stop moving then jumps out a,
"You have got to be kidding me." My axe drops to my side. I look down at the bunny near my feet. "Really?" I walk away, kicking at the ground. I need to stop over thinking everything. I mean come on! It was a bunny for Pete's sake.
"Arg!" This whole zombies thing is annoying me, and scaring me.
I have to last a year! That's a long time. How I'm the WOrld will this happen. Ill have to find other people. That would help, right?
I slide open the window again and pull myself through.
"Leo?" I call out, surprised he isn't at the door.
I hear a crash in the kitchen.
My eyes widen, ifs it's a zombie I'm screwed. So very screwed!
I grab my axe again. And wall forward.
"Leo?" I hear something move. Oh god. Oh god.
I peek around the corner, heart pumping out of my chest.
"LEO!" I drop my axe and run forward. Helping take the bucket off his head.
"Where did you even find a bucket!" I pull it off to find his guilty face,
"You scared the crap out of me."
I turn and grab a tuna can.
"Hungry?" I drop the can next to him, he jumps at the can right away.
I slid into a kitchen chair, huffing.
"Well I probably should go outside again." I ruffle Leo's hair on his head.
"Or I should bring you with me next time, if there's a next time."SORRY FOR THE LONG WAIT AND THE SHORT CHAPTER! Hope you enjoy Chapter 7
