Act 7: To the Right Future

(Believe it or not, this story will finally be finished next week! We did it! We finally finished this! Yahoo! It wasn't deleted, it wasn't lost, and it wasn't corrupted! I am almost finally done with the story! I just have to work on the last part and then the author's note! I hope you all enjoy!)

(Cannon's POV)

                 So, we waited for three days. Yeah, that's right. We waited on the day of his public execution to act on his plan. Why? Well, our leader is fearlessly stubborn. I don't know how long that is going to keep him alive. He's been close to death more times than I can count.

"So, he still hasn't changed his mind about this plan of his?" Leon asked hopefully.

"Of course, he hasn't. If he did, then we would know something is wrong" Luka pointed out with a laugh.

I really wish she would stop making that joke even though it is a true joke.

"So, where are the Chaos Emeralds?" I asked everyone as I held the white one.

Luka presented the red emerald to me as Leon answered, "Well, that stupid king still has the purple emerald. The both princess and Arth have their emeralds back. Rob is holding onto the emerald Sorely had. So, that should be all seven emeralds"

Leon counted his fingers as he nodded to himself for confirmation. Miriam arrived with Vector behind her in the room.

"The guards are gathering others to the square and setting up for his public execution. Rob is out there and holding the emerald. Are you all ready for this?" Miriam asked seriously.

Leon put his sword away in his scabbard as Luka put the emerald in her bag.

"Alright. Vector go and help Nazo out. Vanilla will join you two later" I said to him.

"Got it!" he replied as he ran out of the bakery and went to help Nazo.

"Now, let's stay scattered. We can't let the enemy know what is about to happen. Also, once the emeralds come together, we have to make sure to get everyone away. This will not end well regardless of the outcome. Understand?" I said seriously to them.

They understood as each of us went off in different directions. Sorely, this plan of yours better work. We are really doing something very risky and dangerous. We may even blow up the square and the castle after this. Dear Chaos, what are we doing exactly?

(Sorely's POV)

As the days passed, I was able to talk to Flare and learn more about her, the princess, and the kingdom. She talked about how bright and just our kingdom was before the former king and queen died and Mephiles came to power. As for me, I told her stories about my friends, our struggle with the rebellion, and how wonderful the princess is.

"Sounds like you really care about her" Flare said as she blushed a bit.

"Haha. Well, she has cools powers, she's nice, beautiful, and so amazing. What is not to like about her?" I asked as I laughed a bit.

Flare could only nod her head in agreement as she then said in a whisper, "She feels the exact same for you. She wouldn't stop admiring you for what you've done for the kingdom. She really wanted to meet you"

I blushed at that comment. I don't think I am all that great. Plus, most of my plans are really dangerous. I already feel bad that I am putting her in danger along with my friends.

"Well, once this is over, I better be a gentleman and sweep her away, right?" I asked with a wink as Flare rolled her eyes at me.

"Oh, she would like that! And a nice walk around the kingdom. She was never able to leave the castle much" Flare hinted in delight.
