Chapter 7

After dinner the whole family decided to settle into the TV room to watch a movie. We ended up watching Grown ups 1 and 2 and in the middle of Grown ups 2 I dozed off.

I was woken up by Nick at the end of the movie.

"Let's go to bed, I'm sorry for waking you up. I would have carried you but I'm still going through recovery." He said smiling down at me sympathetically.

"It's okay." I told him standing up and giving a little stretch. "Goodnight everyone." I said making my way to my room.

"Goodnight." I heard everyone chorus in return.

As I was making my way to my room I felt a hand lightly gripping my wrist. I didn't have to look up to know that it was Nick because when he holds me he always gave me a strange feeling. I looked up at him and shot him a small lazy smile encouraging him to tell me about whatever he wanted to talk about before I headed off.

"Aren't you sleeping with me tonight?" He gently asked with his own lazy smile and his head cocked slightly to the side making him look so adorable.

"Do you want me to?" I asked even though I knew that it's what he wanted but I still wanted him to voice it out to me.

"Yes." He replied with that single one word answer looking straight into my eyes with complete seriousness in his voice.

"Okay." I said gently pulling him to his room. When I got there I quickly opened the blankets and then slipped in with Nick following suit.

"Goodnight, my love." I heard Nick say as I was about to fall asleep.

"Goodnight." I also mumbled although mine probably sounded more jumbled up due to my sleep filled voice and the fact that I was close to passing out.

I felt Nick pulling me even closer to his chest and then he whispered the three words that every person wanted to hear from someone that they also loved.

"I love you." He said, but I couldn't respond because sleep immediately took me after I had managed to hear those words, the ones that I've always wanted to hear from the man that I would fall in love with and I knew that I loved him too. I felt it in my heart that I did and I was more than happy with it, he was my soulmate after all.

Nicholas's POV

I started waking up when I felt movement from besides me making me frown a bit just as I was about to open my eyes. I started sitting up so that I could find out where my mate was going.

"Sleep." She said pressing a brief kiss onto my lips and placing her hand on mine, gently pushing me back down onto my pillow in my shock filled state. I couldn't help but to release a small moan as my eyes fluttered back shut. "I'll see you later." Was the last thing that I heard from her before everything went black and I fell back into my world of sleep with a smile plastered onto my face.

When I woke up again I found the spot next to me empty which made me frown a little and then I remembered the kiss that I had received before she had left. In her place sat a small folded letter with my name written on the front. Sitting up I took the letter, opened it and began to read.

- Dear Nick,I'm sorry I had to leave like that,but I have school today. The moment that I finish this year,I'll be all yours. At least until Varsity starts next year.I'll be back at the house at 15:30 more or less. Mom is at home with Livy and Connor,who will only be leaving on Saturday. Dad is at work as well. I made you a chicken sandwich, which I think that you'll like for lunch and then Mom will handle breakfast which will be ready by the time you wake up. I miss you already.

The P.S part really just made my day, I still would like to hear it straight from my mate's mouth but the one on this letter would do for now.

With a sigh of delight, I got up and headed to the bathroom to brush my teeth and to rinse my face. Before I made my way downstairs to eat breakfast, at least I wasn't as nervous as before but I still felt a bit nervous. I was still getting to know this family after all and not having Lexy next to me made me slightly more nervous than I would have been with her close by. I guess it was time to toughen up and stop hiding behind my mate. That was the last thought on my mind before I made my way into the kitchen and was welcomed by the smell of chocolate coated pancakes.

"Good morning Sleepyhead. How did you sleep last night?" Mrs Clarkson asked as I made my way to the kitchen island.

"Good morning Ma-" I was about to say but the look on her face made me quickly correct myself. " I mean good morning Cora. I slept well thank you. How about yourself?" I responded and asked her while smiling politely at her.

"I slept well, thank you for asking. I'm just about finished here so you can dish up and if you would like any syrup it is up in the pantry." Mrs Clarkson or Cora said to me while gesturing to the pantry with her spatula. "Make yourself at home and use whatever you would like to eat, go crazy." Cora said before she flipped the pancake in her pan.

"Thank you." I then realised that the house was very quiet and the only person that I had seen since I woke up was Cora. "Where's Connor and Olivia." I asked now looking around in and not spotting them anywhere in the kitchen or the dining room.

"Oh those two went to go and eat out. They wanted some couple time, but they'll be back I'm not sure when though, so it's just you and me until then." Cora said with a gentle smile on her face and a little shrug.

"Okay, thank you for the food." I said before I began digging in and yep they tasted as great as they looked.

I basically had nothing to do during the day, so I watched TV and read a book from the bookshelf in the sitting room to pass time. 15:30 came slowly for me but it eventually came while I was watching TV.

"I'm home." I heard my mate announce before I heard a male voice as well greeting Cora. I wonder who that is.

"Kayden I'm going to go look for Nick okay, you can come with me if you'd like." I heard her saying making me frown, Kayden was here.

"There you are." She said coming into the TV room with Kayden in tow, I had a frown etched onto my face and my eyes could not move from Kayden. He had blond hair and stood at about 6'0 and honestly I couldn't help but be jealous. Not to sound gay right now but Kayden wasn't bad looking and he has known my mate for longer and knows more about her than me. I suddenly felt someone sitting on my lap, surrounding their arms around my neck and giving me a quick peck. I knew by all the tingles that it was Alexa with my eyes being glued to Kayden I hadn't even noticed that she had moved.

"Kayden this is Nick, my mate and the love of my life. Nick this is Kayden my best friend." Lexy introduced us and only the way she called me the love of her life completely softened me up and I couldn't help but pull her even closer to me by her waist.

"It's nice to meet you." Kayden and I said in unison to each other even though that wasn't initially the case in the beginning.
