Anand's Point Of View

I was driving the car slowly with my eyes at a distance. Tears brimmed in my eyes when I heard from Vibha's sister that she tried to kill herself and the reason is me. I did a big mistake and I can't live without my Vibha.

"I'm sorry"I said to Vennela Akka ( sister ) who was sitting besides me

"I didn't mean to hurt her in anyway"I said in a low voice.

"Anand there's no point in commenting over the same thing. We should think about the next step before it's too late. Vibha is so emotionally drained out"

"I don't want to make her go through this. It happened because of me. I'll never abandon her"I said looking at her.

"She won't go for an abortion. Before killing the baby she will try to kill herself Anand"she said make me feel terrible.

"I won't let that happen"I said and wiped my tears

"Do you love her sincerely"she asked and suddenly I halted the car. I can see her in the same state as mine.

"Akka for me this relationship was not a joke. I was serious about her. We broke apart because she decided to go away from me to London"

"She was not going away from you Anand. She wanted to look after her career. Was that her fault?"she asked and I felt stupid about myself. I nodded with guilt and started the car again.

"Anand see I want to meet your parents and talk to them about this before it's too late"she said and I flinched thinking about them.

"I'm- I'm staying away from them"I said and I saw her looking at me blankly

"Means?"

"I don't get along well with my father. So I left the house an year ago and I live with my friends"I said

"What will we do then?"she asked and frankly I had no idea. Then I think about Anna ( elder brother )

"I have to talk to Anna. Probably only he can help me"I said. He had been my pillar of strength. He's a senior doctor working in the same hospital where Vibha had been admitted. I wondered whether I should call him and tell him about this. But I couldn't gather enough strength.

"Your brother?"she asked and I nodded my head

"What is he doing?"she asked.

"He's a senior doctor"I said and before I could say anything else we reached the hospital. I was desperate to see Vibha. I wanted to hug her and cry.

"Anand wait"Vennela Akka stopped me. She then took her phone and dialled someone's number.

"Sana it's me. Is Amma there somewhere around Vibha"I heard her asking. After few minutes she cut the call.

"We can leave. Amma went back home to get Vibha's clothes"she said I nodded.

We walked through the corridor. My heart was pounding. I wondered where Anna is, right now.

"Good evening doctor"someone wished Vennela Akka and she smiled.

"Good evening"she said and I looked at her.

"Are you a doctor?"I asked. She nodded her head.

"I'm working as an intern here. I just joined today morning as a junior doctor under Dr. Jay Reddy"she said and I stopped walking.

"What happened?"she asked noticing me.

"Dr. Jay is my elder brother"I said and she looked at me , shocked. She opened her mouth to say something , but just then someone walked in between.
