Ai half-watched Karasuno's game with Fukurōdani while Nekoma took a break. She stood on the side by the wall and held a notebook in case she wanted to write something.

However, her hand with a pencil was mostly at her collarbone, mindlessly fiddling the silver heart pendant. The red gem in the middle sparkled under the gymnasium lights. She had been playing with the necklace more than usual, as if she could remind herself of Akashi whenever her fingertips touched the gift.

Kenma stood beside her, while Shibayama and Yaku read her red notebook. Yachi cheered when Asahi made a service ace from Konoha. Although they seemed exhausted, Karasuno seemed to be playing well. Bit by bit, everyone was making fewer mistakes.

21-18.

They narrowed the point gap with every set they played. Everyone's daily progress was a marvelous accomplishment. Yachi had been a bit worried about how spiritless Tsukishima was, but his indifferent attitude wasn't something that had started recently.

"Asahi-san, one more nice serve!" Tanaka yelled to the ace.

"Nice serve," Tsukishima said and covered the back of his head and neck for safety.

It had also been roughly three weeks since the first-year duo had gotten into their fight. Even though they were practicing together, they still weren't talking. Unfortunately, the new fast attack wasn't going very well either. Kageyama's sets were often too short of the spiker and ended in a toss miss.
