It was the morning after my thrilling experience with Dabi, and also the day of our date. "Finally official, huh?" I thought, as I gazed up at the ceiling of my room.

He had planned for us to meet at noon, which was exhausting. Our first kiss had kept me up for hours on end, the scene repeating itself in my thoughts. I hadn't gotten any sleep.

I rushed out of my bed, nearly tripping on my way to my bathroom. The time was ticking, and I was already running late on schedule. Once I peered down at my dimmed phone-screen, I noticed that I had no missed calls from Dabi. "He's probably still asleep." I giggled.

Once I had finished, I quickly dug into my closet. My fingers shuffled the clothes rapidly, causing plastic hangers to drop onto the carpet. "It's just the mall, but.."

After scouting through several outfits, I finally found the perfect one. A long pair of pants, shaded in a gentle auburn color. Pairing the pants with a simple top, one which I covered with a warm cardigan, resulted in my outfit for the date.

The tips of my hair formed effortless curls, ones that bounced as my feet moved in front of the other. I made my way out into the living room, before getting stopped by Pinka.

Ever since yesterday's fight, just being around her tickled my spine. I've known Dabi for a few months now, yet she still doesn't trust him. If his intentions were to harm me, I have no doubt he would've done it by now. "Whatcha doing, (Y/N)?" Pinka asked.

"Just going out with friends, you know?" I knew this was the day where she would finally stop me, as my excuses stopped adding up.

"I don't know, actually! Where were you last night?"

My foot stepped back, before my mouth lied to her once more. "I stayed home-"

"No, because when I came home, you weren't fucking here!" Pinka cut me off, she had discovered all of my lies. "Boss excused me early last night, and when I came home, tadaa! You weren't here."

"So, you aren't leaving this time. I don't care about Dabi's feelings, he's going to think you ghosted him! Perfect!"

I needed to do something. Obviously, she wouldn't let me leave. Using my last resort, I brought one of my hands behind my back. Whilst releasing the comforting, melatonin gas, I made a false apology. "Okay, you caught me. I'm sorry, I couldn't help it."

The blasting air stemming from the A.C fondled with the melatonin gas, causing it to flood the room. I watched as Pinka's furious expression faded. Her skin grew a tad dull, before she gently fell atop the couch. "I'm sorry." I said, before leaving my apartment.

Dabi was pacing back and forth on the jagged pavement, impatiently waiting for me. I tried to direct my thoughts away from my growing migraine, as I sprinted towards him. My arms unexpectedly wrapped around his muscular chest, making him jump. "Dabi!"

This time, he was wearing something different. Dabi wore a simple outfit, consisting of dark, baggy pants and a graphic-tee. His gnarled skin was exposed, and the sun's rays reflected off his metallic piercings.

He grunted as a small breath of air escaped his lips, before turning around and grinning. "Hey, you. For a moment I thought you wouldn't be coming."

"Yeahh, sorry. Something came up last minute." I said, before wrapping my arm with my hand.

"Tell me about it. Is it them?" he pushed.

I felt confident about Dabi. Sure, Pinka has been a real pain lately, but he knows how important she is to me. He wouldn't harm her if he knew it would upset me. "Mhm, my roommate."

We began to walk down the sidewalk, making way to the city. Dabi stayed silent as I continued to vent, yet he listened closely to my words. "I'm going to be honest, she hates your guts."

"Whenever we meet up, I always have to make an excuse for her. If I don't, she won't let me leave."

"Today, she found out that we had been hanging out. I had to use my quirk on her, it's so damn annoying."

"To be honest, I don't even know why she hates you. She says it's cause you're in some bad business or whatever, but I really don't care."

I clung onto Dabi's arm, his scent putting me at ease.  However, before he could respond to my vent, something interrupted us. "Man, that's-"

A familiar voice disrupted us, instantly making me seal my lips. "Oh, hey!"

The pesky sound of flapping wings startled me, as the number two hero stopped us in our tracks. Hawks flew in front of us, obviously speaking to Dabi. "Funny seeing you here, how've you been?"

Hawks had golden eyes, one that seemed to glow, despite the bright sun illuminating the area. Dabi paused for a moment, before answering. "Hey. I'm alright, thanks for checking in on me."

Almost instantaneously, Dabi gripped onto me. He pulled me closer to him, I had no doubt he was on guard. My knees began to twitch, showing I was afraid.

The bird-man turned his view to me, and began to ask questions. I stayed silent, letting Dabi take the lead. "Who's this?"

"That's none of your business, Hawks." he said, before gently pulling me behind him.

"Geez! I didn't mean to trigger a nerve. Alright, well, I'll leave you two lovebirds to it."

Dabi refused to reply, before walking forward and dragging me with him. I glanced back, and was instantly met with Hawk's stare. His feral, golden eyes locked with mine, looking suspicious as ever. Hawk's vermillion wings were spread, was he possibly listening?

I gave my body to Dabi, allowing his arms to protect me. It's true, I had no idea what was going on between them, or even how Hawks is related to Dabi, but I needed to inform him about the situation which occured yesterday. "Hey, Dabi?"

"Yesterday, I bumped into him, Hawks. Nothing happened, but I feel as if he's suspicious of me."

"Trust me, he is. Very, very suspicious." Dabi replied.

"That doesn't change anything, though. Right?" Hopefully, this didn't put strain on our relationship.

We were approaching the mall, where our movie date was going to begin. Dabi reassured me, and planted a kiss on the top of my head. "Not at all, princess."

"Just be careful of him, alright? Don't trust people like him."

"People like him?" I thought. Does he mean other heroes? They're supposed to protect us, so I wondered why Dabi didn't want me to trust them. Despite this, I trusted Dabi. Flashing him a bright smile, I then nodded.
