The Babysitter

Four

She reached the front door and rang the doorbell. She heard two sets of footsteps coming down the stairs, one softly and the other was pretty much stomping on the stairs. The door then opened revealing Jughead and his sister standing back.

She gave him a smile and said," Good morning."

He returned the smile and responded," Good morning to you too. You seem excited."

" Didn't notice that but I guess I am. Am I not supposed to be or something?", Betty asked and then quickly frowned.

Jughead realized she was still outside and moved away from the door to let her in and then said," No not that. I was just stating."

She laughed at that and then looked at Jellybean and said," Hey there! You must be Forsythia."

" I prefer JB, short for Jellybean but yep that's me!"

Jughead interrupted their short talk and asked," Hey Betty? Can I talk to you privately for a minute."

Betty nodded and followed him to the kitchen and waited for him to speak.

" Ok so for these two months of her summer vacations, you have to come in the morning. I wanted to ask if you are free in the evenings because sometimes I may have to go to work in the evenings."

" I am usually free till now but don't worry about it. I'll come if needed Mr. Jones."

Jughead laughed leaving Betty confused as he said,'" Please, never call me that again. It's weird. Call me Jughead."

" Jughead? As in best friend of Archie Andrews?"

" Wait you know Archie?"

" No not exactly. I told you about I have a roommate right? Well she is working at Pop's where she met Archie."

" Oh I see."

She smiled and they both continued talking about what Jellybean should do and other things. Soon it was time for Jughead to leave for his work and both the girls bid him goodbye.

She looked at Jellybean and asked," Do you want to do something with me or do you have work right now?"

" Well I want to get to know you so maybe we could go to Pop's? I haven't had breakfast yet."

" That's where we are going then. I honestly want to go there since I haven't been there."

Jellybean looked at Betty and said," Wait you haven't gone to Pop's yet? How long have you been in Riverdale?"

" About 4 days..."

" Ok you are seriously missing out. We are definitely going there and getting everything on the menu."

" Not everything JB. We'll end up having a stomach ache and trust me you will regret it."

" I am pretty sure I won't but I really don't want to puke or anything. So maybe just the burgers and some sides."

" Sure!"

15 minutes later they were in front of a diner with neon lights, that weren't visible in the morning, saying Pop's. As they entered the bell jingled and Veronica, who was working at the cash register, looked up to see who had entered. She smiled and walked up to the two of them.

She said," Welcome to Pop's Betty and I presume Jellybean."

" Wait how do you know each other? I have never seen you here...", questioned Jellybean.

" Well I am Betty's roommate and best friend and I just started working here today."

" Nice to meet you then Veronica!", said Jellybean reading her name tag.

Veronica smiled and then directed them to a booth. Jellybean started suggesting billions of things and combos to try out of the menu and Betty laughed and gave up. She told Jellybean to order what she thought was the best. Betty ended up having a double cheeseburger with a side of French fries and a vanilla milkshake while Jellybean took a bacon cheeseburger with a side of onion rings and a chocolate milkshake. While waiting for their order they started to get to know each other.

Jellybean started," Ok so first I want to know all the basic things. Your favorite color, book, movie, songs, author, singer, actor or actress and food. The last one is extremely important to me. Also your hobbies."

" Ok that's not so basic but I'll answer them. My favourite color is yellow, book is probably any book of Harry Potter and movie is any movie of Harry Potter, Titanic and Avatar. It's a tie there. Too many songs to have a favorite, author would be J.K Rowling. Favourite singer is Ed Sheeran and actor is Mike Meyers and Cole Sprouse. Food probably pizza and for snacks fruity pebbles or ice cream. I like to write and read. Now your turn same questions."

( Ok so for those who are wondering. I got all this information from google lmao. Except for the favorite book, author and hobbies. Also Cole Sprouse for favorite actor is also not real)

" I like black a lot but more with a combination of red. I love Harry Potter movie and books too and my favorite author is also J.K Rowling. My favorite actors are KJ Apa who looks a lot like Archie I have to say,  except he's probably not so dumb. I also like Bylan Minnette and Scarlett Johansson. I really like the song Wonder wight now by Shawn Mendes but my favorite singers are Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift and Katy Perry. I love pizza too and have a mutual liking for burgers just like my brother. Also I love to eat, sleep and annoy Jughead. Other than that I love dancing."

( Ok so most of it is true about Trinity Likins except for movie and books and also KJ Apa being the favorite movie star.)

" Love your choice of hobbies.", Betty laughed.

Soon their food arrived and Betty quickly took a bite of her burger as it looked really appetizing.

She then exclaimed," Oh. My. God. This is extremely delicious! The best burger I have probably tasted in my entire life!"

Jellybean smiled and nodded with her mouth stuffed with her burger. They continued talking about themselves and Betty got to know a lot about Jughead in the process too. Soon they were finished with their food and were ready to go back to her house.

A/N Ok so this was probably boring but I wanted to create a connection with Betty and JB so that they connect well later in the story. The friendships I really wanna focus over here are Veronica and Betty, Jughead and Archie, Betty and JB with a little Veronica maybe and the brother sister relationship of Jughead and JB.
